My family is visiting DC on the 25th and I was wondering if there was a time of day that is best to schedule your dolphin swim. Thanks!!!

When we were there in May, we were only give a few times to choose from and they were in the morning. I think the earlier you arrive for check-in, the earlier the dolphin swim times you can choose from. You may be able to request a later time, but we perfered the morning. If you do it in the morning, you don't have to worry about checking the clock all day and worry about missing your reservation, and you don't have to worry about an afternoon thunderstorm interfering with your swim.

Morning is best as the dolphins are more active and ready for the day and ready to do anything for fish.

I would also say morning, but for a different reason. Our swim was in the morning (and it was wonderful) and we kept thinking throughout the day that we wished it had been later in the day so we had it to look forward to. At about 3:00 a HUGE thunderstorm hit and we had to sit in the gift shop for about 2 hours. As soon as it was safe to go out, they started the swims back up again and we were watching. I felt so bad for the people because it was still pretty dark and still raining. (We purchased the cd and dvd so I wanted really good pictures). I'm sure they rebook the people who missed their swim for a later time or another day, but if that is the only day you have available to go to DC, I'm not sure what would happen. My thinking was that if it was bad weather in the morning, hopefully we would get rescheduled before the end of the day.

Have a great time with your swim - it really is one of the best experiences I have ever had.

We just got home yesterday from DC. Our swim was at 11:25, it was the earliest available. We got there at 8:00 and the line to sign in was already out the door. It moved quickly, but so did the swim times! Our time worked out well, we watched others a little just to see what to expect. We had time to explore and swim with the rays before our dolphin encounter. If you go and see Lester (our dolphin) tell him hello for me!
