Does Starwood at Disney give better service than Disney Resorts?

This is very subjective. Every resort is going to have an off day no matter where it is located. If you read through this board you will see people who just returned from the GF and were not happy with the condition of their room or the service they received from the CMs. Someone else wrote about poor service at the POLY and how they switched to the GF.

You will find people who have had nothing but good stays at the Swan/Dolphin and then you will find reports of people not being happy with housekeeping or the condition of their room at the S/D.

We will be at the Dolphin for the first time in 13days and here is what we expect.

1. To get the view we paid for.
2. To be treated with the same respect that we show the resort staff.
3. For the room to be clean and in good shape.

If a resort cannot do the three above then there are bigger issues at play.

Hope you have a great trip no matter where you end up staying.

Tiffany took the words right out of my mouth!

Any resort can have bad days, cranky CM's, etc.

It's all what you make of it. If you are one of those people who are out to find faults, cracks, peeling wallpaper, rippled rugs, stains, then you'll find them anywhere!

But if you go and let yourself be swept away in the element of Disneyworld, you should have a great time!

We have stayed at the Swan in April 2001 and the Dolphin this year. We are returning to the Swan in January of 2003. My first choice is the Dolphin, but there will be a HUGE convention there at the same time, and they were booked! :earseek:

But I'll take the Swan just the same~! The location is superb and within walking distance to Epcot and MGM! The Boardwalk is at your back door! And the Grotto Pool was voted "The Most Lush and Exotic" by Disney Magazine.

Enjoy!

We came back from the Dolphin 3 weeks ago.
Room #8025 - non smoking, balcony- view of EPCOT & MGM.

What we loved:
The boat to EPCOT & MGM
Buses to other places every 15 minutes
Tubbies & the Dolphin fountain to eat
The water fall and slide at the 3 acre pool
The size of the room - 360 sq feet
The 20% DC discount on meals
The coffee bar in the main lobby (DH favorite)
The business center (DH spent one morning doing work)
The whimsical hall way decorations (beach scenes)
The information desk
TV channel to view your billing account
Clean towels and sheets
The oatmeal bar soaps (brought some home)
Quiet rooms, great location, great teacher rates

What we did not like:
Getting wet from rain when walking back to the Dophin from the
boat dock. Hey - it's warm anyway, so who really cares.

Try the Dolphin (or Swan) - and Enjoy :)
