Dolphin! room close to boat and view?

Planning our Oct trip and stay at the Dolphin. I'm not sure what room to request. I like the idea of short walk from the boat dock or BW but I'm not sure what Wing that is. Also any recommendations on floor # or area for a view from the Dolphin?

Any room suggestions would be appreciated. Other's on this trip are not too crazy about long elevator rides. There are saying up to about 4 or 5 floors is tops for them.

The last time I was at the Dolphin we were in a room on the first floor with a sliding door and little patio facing the pool. It was a good location, but I would like to try for a some type of view if we can stay a close walk to the BW.

We were there last June and I guess I missed the fact that there were other exits? I thought everyone went to the lobby to ride the escalator down to the boat dock. We had a lake view (or was it water view) on the 6th floor looking down over the canopy that leads out to the boat dock. We also saw TOT clearly out our window. But we never looked out our window except for first thing in the morning to see if the sun was shining! We just weren't in our room much! As far as the elevator, I think we shared an elevator maybe twice the 7 days we were there. There were 4 elevators to choose from to our wing (I think it was east). It was strange because we saw lots of conventioners at night and the pool was pretty busy, but from the Dolphin we went to Hard rock Hotel and that place was a zoo! Dolphin was much quieter!

I'd like to know more about that patio room if you can share you experience.

The location closest to the Boardwalk is at the Swan, rather than the Dolphin! If you want to be close to the boat dock - then you need to be as close to a central elevator as possible.
