Dolphin ressie question

I currently have a ressie at the Dolphin for 3-21 - 3-26 (Government rate) $154 + $10 resort fee for 3 adults & 2 kids. I need to change this ressie adding 1 more child. I can get a Jr Suite for $340 + $10 resort fee. It would be cheaper to get 2 rooms. The TA I'm working with says they don't have 2 rooms at my rate only Jr Suite. I checked DU website and it shows I can get 2 rooms for $301 + $10. Does this seem right that DU shows it available but the other TA doesn't. The other TA supposedly called the Dolphin and was told this.

What size beds does the Jr Suite have?

The Jr. Suite has a separate bedroom with a king bed, and then a pull down bed in the living room. There's also a sofa in the living room. I think that makes out into a bed, but I'm not sure. You should call and ask.

I think DU is able to plug into the S/D computer ressie system, and it doesn't sound like your TA can do that. Is there any way you can cancel with your current TA without losing any money? I would do that and go with DU unless your TA can get it figured out.

On the other hand, the Jr. suite sounds really nice. Plus make sure that the $10 is just on one room. I always thought it was per room.

No I wouldn't lose any money. I'm glad you brought up the $10 resort fee for each room. I'll have to check into that. Is the DU website reliable for room availability? I checked Starwood's website and I couldn't get the government rate either. If I book at DU and cancel would I lose any money?

I think the DU website is reliable for availability. You can call DU's 800 number to double check. If you book through them, I would call so you can talk to an agent in person and find out what else they will do for you. I don't know their cancellation policy, but I do know you can book directly with the Dolphin and get your deposit back if you cancel a week in advance.

I'm also trying to contact DU directly, do you know the 800 number, or can you tell me where to find it!! Thank-you for your help!!

DU must has some sort of special arrangement with the Swan/Dolphin. I am supposed to use a different TA through
work but they could not find rooms open at the Swan on the
date I needed them (NYE). DU had them so I booked through them. I now have asked to add two day more to the reservation
again through DU and am awaiting a confirmation on that.
Swan'w website shows no avaliability but DU shows it avaliable.

According to the DU website as long as you cancel befor a certain time, can't remember if its 72 hours or what, you don't loose your deposit.
