Is there a difference between booking the Dolphin direct or thru Disney? Thanks

We always book direct with Dolphin/Swan to collect Marriott(previously SPG) points.

I always think the fewer people between me and the hotel the better just in case things go wrong. I don’t need one company blaming the other when I’m standing there with a bad issue requesting compensation.

My understanding is that if you book via Disney, you have to book a package. If you go through Dolphin, you can book room-only and have access to various discounts. Check this thread for more information.

We booked directly and we did have to call Disney to get our reservation conncected to my Disney account. There was a problem for some reason. Our friends just went and booked directly as well and said they got all the same perks of booking with Disney.
