Dolphin or BC ? We love the EPCOT area

Which resort would you stay at if the rate per night was $200 or less ?

  • Dolphin by Starwoord ?

  • WDW Beach Club ?

  • Another resort of choice ?

Would you select the Dolphin with an AAA discount or BC with an AP rate ?

We love  the EPCOT resort area.

We have stayed at the Dolphin and do not mind the non-Mickey theming.
I bring my own Disney bathroom cups, our kids have Mickey toothpaste, and wear Disney pj's.

The BC pool has caught our DD & DS eyes. Pools are a biggies with our kids.
DH just wants to be able to be in the EPCOT resort area.
I like EPCOT and MK resorts.

We will have AP tickets, we are AAA members.
We could do a room for around $200 a night. (hey less would be great)

Which would you select & why ?
Would you stay at another resort ?

I've stayed at the Dolphin twice and the BC once. The BC would win hands down in my book (you can't beat SAB). The only reason I ever chose the Dolphin over the BC was for the $129 teacher rate. Now that's about dried up and the Dolphin is rumored to begin charging a $7 parking fee on top of their $10 resort fee. :rolleyes2 Therefore, I don't think the price difference will ever be great enough for me to pick the Dolphin over a WDW resort again.

I voted for the Beach club, just because we just stayed there last November and had a great stay (fell in love with the Nantucket theming). Still, I have to say that I prefer the Boardwalk over any other Epcot hotel. The decor just does it for me and the rooms are to die for :cool1:

That said, the Dolphin would be my choice over the Swan if there was a great rate there, and I'd probably choose the Dolphin over the Yacht club on the basis of heavenly beds and the Dolphin's great lobby and views of Epcot.

So my order would be:

1. Boardwalk
2. Beach Club
3. Dolphin
4. Yacht Club
5. Swan

I love the BC, easier walk to Epcot and the great pool.

I would probably pick the Swan over the Dolphin, but that is a matter of personal preference.

I don't think you can get BC for $200/night except during a really off-time like September (hurricane season). You can get the Dolphin for around $160/night with AP or AAA rate. We have stayed at the Dolphin and loved it. The grotto pool, with fun slide, is great.

We will book both - BC and Dolphin. Then 3 months before - or when AP rates comes out or AAA rates - we'll decide where. Lowest rate wins - unless really close in price - then we'll do BC :cool1:

Thanks for all the advice !

I love all the people who help us make decissions.
You help tie breakers !
You are the best :disrocks:

I voted other as if all of the EC resorts could be had for less than $200 a night I would go with the YC. I have not seen, even the standard view, rooms at the YC/BC or BWI be less then $200 a night since 2000.
