Dolphin or Akl

I have booked the Dolphin for our jult 2004 but......I am considering changing to the Akl. How is the pool at the Akl? My kids like the slide at the Dolpin pool... Thanks!

Hi we stayed at the AKL when it first opened and enjoyed the pool. It is like a huge freeform style and the slide was fun- not too high but long enough for our boys that were 7 and 11 at that time, to have a good time. The look out areas showing the animals was pretty neat too. I do not know what the pool or slide look like at the dolphin - how big is the slide there- does anyone have any pictures of it or the pool ? Hope this helps you a little...

AKL especially if you can get a savannah view....it is by far our favorite resort! The pool is great...no storm along bay but fun! How old are you kids. My dd6 (7 next week ) loves it! I haven't stayed at the Dolphin so I can't compare.......but AKL is #1 in my opinion!

I haven't stayed at AKL, but we loved the Dolphin. My son and husband loved the slide, and the grotto pool in general. What's more is the Dolphin is in such a great location. We were able to come and go to MGM and Epcot as we pleased by walking or taking the short boat ride. I also thought the bus service to MK/AK was good. Most of all, we loved that the Dolphin was a deluxe hotel that offered a great rate.

The Dolphin and AKL are two of my favorite resorts! Having said that, we will be staying 15 nights at the Dolphin this year. Last year we split our stay between the dolphin and AKL. We just missed the Epcot area when we were at our beloved AKL. AKL has a great atmosphere and everyone should at least try it once. We will be back to AKL, just not this years! There both great in their own way! Happy planning!
