I don't want to rent a fridge for whatever the price, but if I use the bar, will I be charged $20.00 one time only?

I used it last summer, swapped my diet cokes and beer for theirs and was never charged.

Sorry I think I must be very thick! Can someone tell me what the one time only fee is? I presume this dosn't mean that once you've paid the money that you can drink what you like for the rest of your stay!! That would be too good to be true!
Sorry if this question id too abvious!
Thanks

There is a $20.00 charge for them to come out and completely empty the fridge for you.

If you are only going to put in a few bottle of water or soda, you really don't need to have it emptied. Just squeeze them in! That's what we did.

Don't the mini-bar people come in daily and count/arrange their things and bill your room for things you've used??? Whatever would they think if your pint of opened milk was wedged in amongst their items??? Sounds like that's why they'll empty it out for you for a one time 20.00 fee, then clean it when you go home and put their things back in. 99.9% of people would would be clean and careful but do you want to purchase things that spent a week with the .1% family?
Done flame me it's just my personal opinion it seems yukky to me to wedge stuff in and the expect people behind you to buy things out of there.

I travel ALL the time and wedge my stuff in there. I mean everything in there is in cans or bottles so if you are concerned that my stuff may contaminate your stuff just rinse off the bottle.

Only once in all my years of stuffing things in there has it been removed and I just put it back.

I agree - I always put my stuff in the fridge - I am clean and careful - I dont need a whole fridge - so why in the world should I pay $20.00 to store a couple of small items. If I did make a huge mess and they did have to "clean up after me" well then it would be fair to pay the $20.00 - otherwise not.
... and I did this at the GF last year too with no problems.

I had just read that we could pay $20.00 and then we would have the fridge. My husband may want to break the tops on some of the goodies in the fridge and then we could use it. They don't come and refill, right?

Letsfuller,
I am not sure I understand your question. What do you mean by "break the tops"?

Yes, on a daily basis the hotel sends someone into your room and counts. If the thing came with 2 cokes and there are NOT 2 cokes then you will be charged. (You won't get any credit for the milk you added in place of the cokes for example). If you put your stuff in and take the exisiting stuff out then I think you run a large risk that they will take your stuff out to replace it with their stuff. That is different from placing a container of cheese on top of the cokes (which is what I do).

If you OPEN any of the goodies you will be charged. These things normally have some tempting stuff like chocolates and nuts that are VERY expensive. Fair warning.

No flames, we did what the CM checking us in suggested!

When he asked us if we wanted the key to the mini bar, I said no. But then he said "you might want to keep a few of your own things cool, why not accept the key and put them in there?"

So that's what we did. :D And we'll be doing it again in August.
