Dolphin - help w/ gov't. discount dates

Thanks to the great info on this board we are planning an Oct. trip, staying at the Dolphin, and want to take advantage of hubby's gov't. discount. I plugged in 5 different date combos on the site and no dates come up during discount time. What gives???

You have to call the Dolphin directly or go through Dreams Unlimited (a sponsor of these boards).

Maybe the discount dates for October aren't in the system yet. What site are you on? Try calling the Swan/Dolphin directly.

I very rarely find any discount dates using online even at other starwood properties. Call the 888 number or use dreams online.

Stringercapecod, I have a question for you.

We are a group of 10 people staying at the Swan 11/28 to 12/6. There will be 4 children (8, 6, 2,1). Do you think the Dolphin would be a better choice with children this age. Thanks for the help.

I would recommend the dolphin for a group that size for a few reasons. Tubbies and the soda fountain are great fast food/sundries options, both located at the Dolphin. My kids 6 & 8 prefer the arcade and pool location of the dolphin including the options of the outside dining. The laundry is at the Dolphin as is a great health club. The dolphin rooms are a bit larger with the sink ouside the "actual" bathroom. The Dolphin is also MUCH larger with more opportunites for connecting or close rooms as well as more choices for better views.

Of course all my Pros for the Dolphin could be someone else's pros for the Swan. They are both great resorts but my family loves the dolphin and our 2nd wdw choice is the swan, followed by the Poly.

I also recommend the Dolphin w/the younger ones. It has more of the conveviences you may be looking for!

Either resort is a great choice, but the Dolphin definitely holds the upper hand in my opinion.

When I tried to make our reservations last for last July with the teacher's rate I called the Swan/Dolphing and was told that not only weren't any days at the discount rate available, but they said they had no rooms available at all for our dates. I then went to www.dreamsunlimited.com (sponsors of this board), and not only got a room ,but got the teacher's rate for three of our five nights. Give Dreams a try. They will also make all your dinner PS for you.
