Dolphin excursion or not?

For the "swim with the dolphins", it says that children under age (I'm drawing a blank right now), but anyone they need to be with a paying adult. I'm wondering if two children can go with one adult? I will need to stay with our 3 year old, but I know my 9 and 6 year olds would love to actually swim with the dolphin. My 9 year old is an excellent swimmer on her own and my DH could help our DS-6? Anyone have any info on two kids with one parent?

My DD6 and I did the Dolphin Encounter last December. We loved it!!!!!!! She still talks about it. I bought 2 pictures of her kissing and hugging the dolphin. I also had a waterproof camera and had a person in the next group to take pictures as well as I took pictures of my DD while we were in the square pen with the dolphin and had a picture I took into a christmas card of my DD kissing the dolphin. It is wonderful experience, well worth the money I think. We are planning to meet stingrays on the next Disney cruise trip this December.

I think will will definitely do the swim, then head over to the beach for a couple of hours... Does anyone know how soon we can make reservations for the swim? We don't go until October, but I want to try and get an early reservation so we can enjoy the beach. Did someone say that the ferry stops at the Atlantis on the way back?

I just may have to do another Dolphin trip ---- or maybe look at the pics - and watch the tape - if you do the encounter - the tape is a tad expensive - but even after 3 years - we still watch it and ROAR with laughter!

I've got a logistical question. We booked the dolphin encounter because stingrays are not available in either location Apr. 8th. (one closed since hurricanes and Blackbeard closed for private party, I was told.) Because this drastically changed our budget, I booked directly with shoretrips.com. Now I am unclear about timing and how we get there and back. I understand the return fairy runs at 2 and 4 pm. But how do we get to the arrival ferry? I heard we walk from the ship or we take a taxi to the Blue Lagoon transport area. Our time slot is 1 pm. Has anyone else done this? What time should we leave the ship to get there? Thanks for any help you can give me!

Not sure how to answer your question. We booked through Disney and the ferry was about a 5 minute walk from the ship - no need for a taxi as the ferry dock and taxi stands are side by side. The ferry we took over at 9:30 a.m. did not leave Blue Lagoon Island until 2:00, so I do not know what ferry you would take over for a 1:00 p.m. if you did not take the 9:30 a.m. ferry.

Now while we were on the island another ferry did come and go and it pulled right up to the Dolphin Encounter dock and people got off and then back on later and it left. You might want to call the Dolphin Encounter people and inquire about when and where transportation is available.

We did dolphinquest in Hawaii, I am not sure if this one at blue lagoon is dolphinquest or not, but my daughter was 7. She did it with kids and my husband and I did it with adults. We loved it, If you like dolphins, you cant go wrong!!!!! I figured it was a once in a lifetime chance to get to be that close and actually touch them so I thought it was worth the price... They took some awesome pictures!!!! We were right at the hotel where the dolphins were, so I couldnt tell you about lockers etc.......
