How very cool! I've been to Mote..we used to live in Sarasota..for awhile my DD24 interned at CROW on Sanibel Island. LOVED it...every minute. She was torn between Marine Biology, Veterinary Medicine and Engineering. She went with Engineering-Chemistry SHe still has such a passion for animals..my TIVO is full of Wildlife Nannies! LOL..You are doing great work! Thanks for sharing..

Yes, I'm a member. For those of you who don't know, Mote Marine Laboratory is in Sarasota, FL.. It is a nonprofit marine research/rehabilitation lab for marine mammals. They have become highly respected. They do amazing things with our marine life that are found stranded on our beaches, sick, etc. They are one of our best places to visit!!!! And we have a great city. It was sad when Pete died in November.

Really cool picture! I keep saying I am going to take DD to Mote but something always comes up....maybe next weekend to get away from the Super Bowl crowds.

DD is going to camp at Acadia Institute for Oceanography this summer are you familiar with it?

I've never heard of CROW. What is it? How interesting that your dd went from animals to engineering! I haven't heard of Wildlife Nannies but I sometimes watch Growing Up.... They are about different species that are orphaned and rescued. Sometimes they can be released as it always depends on the species. I prefer to watch the marine mammal ones such as the seals. I'll have to look up the Wildlife Nannies as that sounds interesting.

We should plan a time to meet! If I have advance notice I can get you in free and if soon I might be able to take you behind the scenes to see Ginger in person. She might be here for a few more weeks but it depends. She is much better and they might release her soon.

We found a house we really liked and have put in a offer. I have no idea where it is as we toured so many neighborhoods I got confused No worries, google maps is my friend.

I have an almost 12 yo dd who is interested in going into marine mammal rescue.

We're heading back to Disney in August, so we may have to take a day trip to MOTE.
