Can you really walk to Epcot and MGM from Dolphin? I know there are the boats, but I've read that after park closing when everyone is exiting at once it's quicker to walk.

Just how far/long is the walk to Dolphin from Epcot and from MGM?

Are there buses from Dolphin that take you to the entrance at Epcot?

Thanks!

Good question Allicat because I'll be staying at the Swan this summer and am also curious.

15-20 minutes to walk from the Dolphin to Epcot and 20 minutes to MGM. Not bad walks at all. If we knew we had just missed a boat (see the boat pull off or hear that one did) we usally just walked. When we did take the boat back from Epcot, we would get off at the Boardwalk and walk to the Dolphin instead of having to stop at the YC and than on to the Dolphin.

There is not a bus for the entrance to Epcot from the Dolphin. You would need to walk or take the boat. That is the only negative part of the transportation from Epcot but nothing a little walk through the "countries" won't cure!

We love the Dolphin! ENJOY!

When I stay at YC or BWI I always walk to and from Epcot. about 15-20 minutes but I always on the way back beat the boat because they have to stop at all of the hotels. I figure walk off a few calories I have eaten in the course of a day. LOL:D

The walk to and from Epcot and MGM are rather pleasant walks, and are very often quicker than the boats. When we aren't too tired, we always walk and take in the scenery!

The only way to get to the front entrance of Epcot is to take a bus to the MK, then monorail over to Epcot!

We stayed at the Swan last December and I consider it is a 'hike' to both MGM & Epcot. To get to Epcot, you need to walk the length of the Yacht & Beach Club to get to the international gateway and then if you want to get to the front side of Epcot you need to walk through the United Kingdom & Canada. I estimate it to be a good 1 1/2 miles which seemed long to me after walking the entire day in Epcot. I did it once and took the boat after that. I think MGM is even further than Epcot but I am not sure. After walking back from Epcot I didn't try the walk from MGM but used the boat. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a boat and it was a very quick boat ride. Have a GREAT time! PS I am 50 and if I was 20, it may not have seemed like a HIKE!!! :D

Hey Sherri...I know the feeling. I'm 45 and sometimes feel like the short walk can be a haul for me, especially after spending all day in the park.
At least I learned that there isn't a bus directly to Epcot because I thought there was.
Someone mentioned that walking was faster than the boat. How many stops does the boat make from the Swan before it gets to Epcot?

The boat goes from Disney Studios to Swan/Dolphin to YC/BC to BW to Epcot and back.

I'm 53 and find it an easy walk to both Epcot and Disney Studios from BCV. Course, I walk a lot at home.

I'm 57 - DH 59. We'll be staying at the Dolphin in May and planned on walking everywhere just to take it all in. Hmmm, guess we'd better start taking a long evening constitutional to get into shape!

You know, I think the walk from Epcot (International Gateway) to BCV is shorter than the walk from the YC/BC boatdock to BCV.

I've learned from reading the posts that it seems like it's a very nice walk to both parks using the walkway. I've heard that it's very scenic.
That August weather can be a bit tough though but I will give it a try.
You never know until you try right?
Besides, now knowing the route it takes I could probably get there faster than the boat!!
Thanks everyone!
