Hi! I made my Dolphin ressie for the beginning of July with the Entertainment rate on the DC card. My DC expires in May. Does the card have to be valid at time of check in? Did I read I would have to renew DC before Dec. to make it valid for next summer, since DC is going out of existence?

Just buy a regular Entertainment Book for your local area. That way you can use all the local discounts on restaurants and use the Dolphin discount. The hotel discounts are the same in all the Entertainment Books. You can buy one from some local schools or charities or go to www.entertainment.com

samsma...I was wondering what rate you received with the Entertainment rate?

Also, you could join Starwood Preferred Guest and those members receive the 50 % off rate. Check out www.spg.com for more information.

I got a rate of 162.50 plus tax for July 5 - 7 after a cruise. I joined Starwood, but I guess I'll call to make sure that I can use this instead of the Entertainment rate. Thanks for the info! I can see that you like the Dolphin from your list of stays. I'm kind of worried about some of the posts I've seen, and if a very good code comes out for this time, I may switch to another EPCOT resort. That's why I didn't want to buy another DC card or Entertainment if I didn't have to to keep that rate. Do you know when the renovations will be done at the Dolphin ie: Heavenly Beds!!!

I THINK the renovations are slated to be finished by the end of 2003. The Swan has the Heavenly Beds (Westin) and the Dolphin will have "Sweet Sleeper" (or something like that) because it is Sheraton owned ... they are similar to the Heavenly Beds.

I highly recommend visiting this thread:

NEW...DOLPHIN/SWAN "questions and answers"...tips and hints... (1/30/2002 - 10/10/2002)

It had so many pages it was closed and another was started, but so many of your questions were answered. I know some people stayed at the Dolphin with a $99.00 rate with the cruise. That may have been a special running at the time, I'm not sure. They also discuss the renovations and beds in detail.

Also, as an SPG member you will be notified about various specials...the "Points & Cash" specials are the GREATEST!!!:D Maybe some SPG deals will come up that you can use in July.
