Your kayaking trips sound great!!! How young do you think a child can be to be able to kayak? Does it depend on their swimming ability? Do they make small kayaks for kids?
Thanks
When we did this last year, our DS12 wanted to do it alone. Based on him being a taller, the guide said it would be okay, provided he had kayaked before. The guide suggested that anyone who hadn't kayaked before not go at it alone and we had a problem because I had never kayaked.
Our original plan was for DH to go by himself, me & DS7 to go together and DS12 to go by himself. Once the guide found out I hadn't done it before, he thought it was best if DH & DS7 went together and I went with DS12. Let me tell you, DS12 was less than happy losing out because of his mom.
As it turned out, I was glad we were together. We had a great time laughing when we got caught in the current and floating into the oyster beds. I don't think we laughed that much together since over something so silly.

The guide said as long as we were laughing he knew we were doing okay.
Polarized sun glasses might help to see the sea creatures swimming by.
We've also done the dolphin tour with Low Country several times. We have decided over the years that we prefer doing the beach combing excursion, as it's the best of both worlds. It's more expensive but we feel we get more for our $$'s that way. We get to see dolphins on our way out to Dufuski Island, then get off the boat and see what kind of other creatures we can find on the beach. Each year I say I'm not picking up any of the dried up sand dollars or star fish, and each year we bring home another bag of them. I just can't pass them up, it's like they are waiting for me to pick them up and bring them home.
I wouldn't hesitate to use Scott with Low Country. We've never had a bad tour with him and always seem to learn something new.
