What can you tell me about the Dolphin Club Level?

Anybody able to upgrade at check in? What was the cost?

Thanks

I got it free once. I would not pay for the club level although others love it.

The lounge is open for a few hours in the morning with a light breakfast and a few hours in the early evening with snacks. You can buy beer/wine/mixed drinks.

They did have bottled water in the morning but it was the 8oz size bottles which are too small for me.

I found the lounge crowded and the staff while nice does not do things like make dinner reservations for you.

I would agree with all of this. I have never paid for Club priv. I use my SPG points and upgrade at check-in. With 3 children, it's great to run down to the lounge and grab breakfast while everyone is getting ready for the parks. We also enjoy the afternoon snacks before we head back to Epcot for the evening. And the cookies? YUM :cool1:

The staff is great--I can't say nice enough things about Thabo and Mama T, they are wonderful assets to the Swan & Dolphin.

We enjoy it, but I wouldn't pay for it.

We like Mama T and Thebo. They make it worthwhile. Great staff members!!!! I agree those cookies are really good. The rest of food can get a little boring after a while. Its a good pick me up. If you have small appetites and don't mind the sameness.....well maybe its ok. We ended up still eating lunch and dinner at the parks or on the Boardwalk even with the upgrade.

Just got back, love the club level for the reasons stated. Free light breakfast, free water (might have to ask for it, usually not out for the taking), and free pop, snacks in the afternoon.

They will, in fact, make dinner reservations for you, and do anything else a concierge might do. (Though some attendants are better than others).

Turn down service and giant bottles of water in the room are nice, too.

Every time I was there the attendants were SO overwhelmed with folks wanting "Free water" and more stuff that there is no way they have time to make reservations for you. Plus with thier limited hours, unless it occurs to you at breakfast it's not like you can get them to call on a last minute reservation.

Maybe I just picked a bad week, but I did not find any of the attendants very friendly. Just business like.

Plus until they really limit this to the club levels it runs the risk of being overcrowded. They allow folks from all over the hotel to "upgrade" to CL access....

Does anyone know what the hours for Club Level for the Dolphin? And what planet have I been on - I thought MAYBE the alcoholic beverages would be complimentary. In the old days - you'd go for a couple of glasses of wine (free) and the hostess would close up around 8ish and say "hey girls - I got 3 open bottle of wines - you want to take them to your room?" THis was at Sheratons and not at Disney. So - I just upgraded from a "Standard Room" to the Club Level and hope I didn't make a mistake. I can live without the booze. I might just smuggle out the OJ so my vodka has a friend. Good idea? Thanks in advance

Williejs,
You are not dreaming. I travel a lot and at other lounges there are often free drinks. Just not here! I have never heard of the hostess saying "take the leftovers" as the Swan/Dolphin.

I actually think the lack of service and variety that I was disappointed in may be due to a comparison to simular products at other hotels (including other Starwoods)

Seems like breakfast was 7 -10 and evening was 4 or 5 till 7?? Someone will have exact hours. Since the early evening is one of my favority times to tour the parks (lots of folks at dinner and it gets cooler) I found those hours pretty limited. I am used to at least 10 or so for lounges like this.
