I am thinking about staying at the Swan and Dolphin resort because I am a teacher and can get a discounted rate. I have called the hotel ticket desk twice and they say that I can purchase an ultimate park hopper ticket for $289.77 at the Fantasia Gardens ticket booth. My travel agent says that you cannot buy this type of ticket with a teacher discount room rate. Does anyone know anything about this? I would hate to get there and only be able to buy a regular park hopper ticket. Thanks.

I have been reading these boaeds along time and have never heard of that type ticket. I don't think they meant that the WDW ticket has a Teachers Discount ,it is just the closest place to buy a ticket. There are some convention type WDW tickets that are less but you have get to those thru your convention.

I checked DisneyWorld.com. The closed thing I could find was the pre purchase price of Ultimate Park Hopper® 4-Night Ticket (Ages 10 and Over) $272.00[no taxes added Disney only adds the taxes at checkout]. So,I believe you are paying regular price for your tickets no discounts.

By the way At TicketMania they have a tax add. no shipping charges

4 Day Park Hoppers[No PLUS] Adult Ages 10+ = $172.00
Unlimited use of Magic Kingdom, Epcot,
MGM Studios and the Animal Kingdom
for any 4 Days, unused days never expire

5 Day Park Hopper Plus Adult Ages 10+ = $260.00
Unlimited use of Magic Kingdom, Epcot,
MGM Studios and the Animal Kingdom for any 5 Days.
Unused days never expire.
And 2 Plus Options, they are single admissions into either
Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach,
Pleasure Island or the Wide World of Sports

And if Disney Quest was one of your destinations check this out
Disney Quest Orlando Adult Ages 10+ = $24.00
Buy the Disney Quest Adult from us and save $8.86 off the gate

I hope this helps you out!!

I stayed at the Dolphin last summer on the teacher rate. We purchased Length of Stay Passes, aka Ultimate Park Hoppers, at the Disney desk in the Dolphin lobby. Our teacher rate had nothing to do with our park passes.

Hi there! Welcome to the DIS! In order to get a more definate answer to your question, I'm going to move this post over to the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies board. Please check the TPA&S board for further replies. Thanks! :)

Hi reneau24 and welcome to the DIS. I'm glad you found us and I hope you can visit often.

I'm going to move this to our resorts board for you.

Oh I really don't mean to make fun :smooth: but the two previous posts made me laugh, in a good way. I have the same problem sometimes trying to figure out which board to go on.

If this helps, we just booked the Dolphin with a government rate and I was forwarded to the Disney desk with my questions regarding tickets. I was quoted a price for Ultimate Park Hoppers for the lenght of our trip (minus the first and last days) and was told I could buy them at the Disney Desk at the Dolphin.

We purchased our tickets (UPHs) at the Swan at the Disney desk. I was also asked if I wanted to remove the first or last day from our tickets, so if you want that option it is easily done there. You can buy any ticket you want with the teacher discount rate, just as anyone else buying tickets at the desk can do.

PS Also love the board to board switch!

Hi Hockeymom--Is the UPH pass you bought at the Swan desk the same as the Length of Stay pass? Can you take off both the first and last day of your stay? How much was your ticket and how long was it for?

Yes, you can buy any LOS (AKA "UPH") ticket at the Swan and Dolphin... regardless of what room rate you have. We've done it too. The CMs at the Disney desk by the Dolphin lobby don't have a clue what room rate you're paying... they're not associated with the hotel.

UPH and LOS are the same passes. We bought ours for the entire six days including first and last day since our flights were first in/ last out. I was asked if I wanted all six days or wanted to drop the first and last day. Since that is always a topic here, I inquired more about it and the lady at the desk said it wouldn't be a problem to drop either or both days. I don't remember how much the passes were for our family of four, but I don't think they were discounted at all, but the normal disney UPH/LOS prices. The staff at the desk were friendly and cordial. They did call down to the desk for us to confirm what days we were staying. We didn't have a room key yet since it was 10:30 am and our room wasn't ready. We left our luggage with guest services and immediately headed out to MGM using the friendship boats. I was also worried like you about getting our tickets, knowing we wanted the "everything" tickets but didn't have a reservation through Disney. It is so easy to do. You can now leave this off the "worry" list! :)

You're going to love your stay at the Dolphin! Location can't be beat, everything is so close together in comparison to many other resorts where you walk all over the place just to grab a pop or catch a bus. I am in the planning stages for our second return. Just have to get it by my DH to approve!

They don't have 2004 uph ticket rates yet but quoted 2003 rate for 8 days at 293 a piece if I remember right, I didn't write it down. They told me, you can't prebuy the uph, just buy them when you arrive, it doesn't matter what kind of booking you have...i have the gov't discount which is the same rate as the teacher, they just sell you the tickets directly as there are no discounts involved, and you can buy the uph's for however many days you want, that you will be there for.
