Dollywood or Silver Dollar City Season Tickets?

We have been comparing the season pass tickets for both Dollywood and Silver Dollar City. They both offer 50% off at the opposite park. Does anyone think the benefits of one park out-weigh the other?

No, I don't think so. We looked into both places before planning our summer vacation. We were looking for a lake house so we can boat, fish etc, but still wanted to hit a theme park with the kids. We decided on Dollywood and we are staying on Norris Lake(about 1 1/2 away). We are doing a package through DW so we will get a hotel there and just leave the lake house for the two days. We just liked the DW/Lake Norris area a little more. We did get only one Gold Season Pass though(to get the benefits), but I found through the package it was $100 cheaper not getting everyone a SP...but we plan only the two days and won't go back. I see you are in Iowa...do you plan on going back multiple times? If not it might be something to look into. I have been planning our resort rental at the DW waterpark and Qbot for the park and all that and I have to say after a WDW vacation last summer I can't believe how cheap this one will be in comparison

We will only go to each park one time. We also thought we would just buy one SP to get the benefits. Silver Dollar has a special offer (good through tomorrow) to get 5 guest vouchers at a special rate with SP purchase. Seems like a really good deal, but we are hoping to stay in a cabin near DW so thinking that might offer more benefits/discounts. Really hard to choose.

We got vouchers through DW too, but they were only good until May on the theme park and June on the WP...we don't go until August so it didn't help. I wonder if the Silver Dollar ones have exclusions? The Gold Pass at DW does have some great discounts for the trip though.
