I checked out Dollar's 'Silver Dollar' plan for seniors, (actually, 50 is not a senior in my book, but if they're giving something away, I'll claim Old Fart status in a minute), and the rate for Economy cars is the same I get when I register as the youthful person I think I am. Anyone use this to good effect? Am I missing something?

My in laws looked into the "Silver Dollar" thing on their last trip. It offered no savings over the rack rate. As a matter of fact they were able to save much more using one of the codes posted at mousesavers. I guess that Dollar hopes to snag someone who thinks they are getting a special discount.

With Silver Dollar, you don't have to pay the 2nd driver fee. I have never booked with them because National EA ususally beats their Silver Dollar rates.
