Dollar website changes

In my never-ending search for the best rental car, I checked Dollar today only to find that the web site has changed. A little more user friendly, but beware, alot of the codes on mousesavers will not work. (At least they did not for my dates--late October). Also, the only code I got to work was MAG. Then if you use it, it says on the confirmation page to bring your Magic Card to the counter when you checkin. I know lots of us use codes that work, but just wanted to give folks a heads up in case you plan to use MAG and do not have a Magic code (like me). Double check that ressie. At least there will be no surprises if it lets us know what the codes are that we are using.

Did you use dollarcar.com or dollar.com?? They are both for Dollar -- but come up with different front pages. The dollar.com website wouldn't take some of the codes.
Wonder why there is a difference??

Yes there are 2 different sites. One is ww2.dollar.com and the other is dollar or dollarcar.com. Either way it does say that you need a Magic Card to use the MAG code. That was a surprise to me and I don't like surprises like that when using an unfamiliar code. I guess Mary (mousesavers) should note that on her site.

Here is the exacting wording on the website when I enter MAG:

"Present your Orlando Magicard to the Dollar Rental Agent when you arrive and receive a 10% discount on your weekly rental at participating Florida locations."

I just used Dollar this weekend with the MAG code. They did not ask for the card and they wern't busy. Got the code no problem.

If you are concerned, sign up for a Magicard. They are free and offer other area discounts.

So where can you get this magic card, who can get it and how fast can you get it??

I used the code but didn't see anything about needing a card to use the code.

Don't want any surprises when we get there!

And fill out the free orlando information kit section. The card takes 2 to 3 weeks to get .

Now dont forget to sign up for Ghirardelli Chocolates so you can
enjoy them in Orlando. THEY ONLY ask for your email address and be sure and check off that you live within 50 miles of a store and you will receive coupons before you go!
Also great to know they do not forwmard your email to anyone

Go to the gmail section on the front page
The coupons they send are for their ice cream in DTD too!

I just went to orlandoinfo.com and was able to print out an Orlando Magicard right away! Thanks for the info!
