Just wondering where the nearest one was, I'll be staying at Hotel Menage. In particular I'm looking for one that sells the ponchos.

Thanks,

tATE

I know there is one across the street from Joe's Crab Shack (12011 Harbor Blvd.) but couldnt you just buy ponchos at home and bring them with you?

There's a Dollar Tree a couple doors down from the Disney Character Warehouse Outlet, just a few minutes north on Harbor Blvd in Fullerton:

Disney's Character Warehouse Outlet Store
Orangefair Marketplace
243 Orangefair Mall
Fullerton, CA 92832
(714) 870-9363

You can stop by and pick up a few trinkets at the Disney Outlet right after you visit the Dollar Tree. :)

I wouldn't bother with the 2 for $1 ponchos from Dollar Tree. We used to always buy them, but about a year ago, they switched them so that they are cut much smaller than they used to be. They took away about 1/3 of the size, I'd say. I think they'd now only be adequate for a very small child. My average size 9 year old son didn't even think it covered him well at all, and my 200 pound 5'8" brother could barely slip it on, and then it was like a short tank top and didn't go over his arms at all, and probably barely went past his waist. I now buy the $.88 ones from Wal-Mart. They're the same size as the Dollar tree ones used to be. So, they do cost more, but are at least somewhat useful!

I'm not sure where your hotel is in relation to Disneyland (guess I could always look it up :surfweb:), but I highly recommend the Viva Bargain Center on Harbor Blvd.

Here's some more info:

It's a few blocks from Disneyland on Harbor, not far at all, and attached to a Target store. The $0.99 cent store is really good, it's always our last stop before heading back to San Francisco. It's not like one of those gross or creepy dollar stores, you usually see other tourists browsing and everything is $.99 cents.

Yes, every time we have gone they had ponchos in stock - my dad loves to collect ponchos just in case. We have purchased theirs but we have not had to use them, therefore they have not been removed from the packaging so I unfortunately can't describe the quality. But they have a few different colors such as burgundy, blue, red, and traditional yellow. This place is very large and has tons of stuff, also convenient that it's next door to Target. By the way, try searching for the ponchos near the registers, they're usually in those front sections attached to the registers, I've always seen them near the chip stand and soda refrigerators.

There's another $0.99 super store further down the road, but that one is a little creepy and not really in the Disney touristy section. I suggest that you consider the Viva Bargain Center :cheer2:.

Thanks for your answers, they were very helpful and exactly what I was looking for.

Target also has rain poncho's for @$1.00 in their camping section. They come in different colors, standard size. These are called emergency ponchos. Then there are those that are sturdier, in the same section, but cost a bit more.

Ya, that is where we always go. The Character Outlet is a great place to stop by as well.
