Dollar rental

Thanks to someone on these boards I got an excellent rate for Dollar Rental Car.

i've never used them, any recent experiences??
Are they located in the same garage as Alamo. We just walked across the street, up a level picked a car and left, very easy.

Also, they have a Dodge Caravan or similar listed, anyone know what the similar would be???

We have used Dollar several times without any problems. They are located in the same garage as Alamo and it's a very easy process. If you call them, they will provide a list of similar cars. We used a code from Disboards and also got a great rate for 2007!

We used them about 2 years ago and they only had Grand Caravans, which is what I normally drive.

I have used them in the past. I still prefer National as my first choice, but when the price is right, then dollar will win my business. They are located at the terminal, so you go to the rental counter. Once you are done with the paperwork, you go over to the gargage and go to the kiosk where someone will hand you keys and tell you what number your vehicle is in. Unless it recently changed, you don't get to pick out your own color (which is something we do on National and Alamo). I do remember that they did try to pressure us to upgrade, but we refused, so keep that in mind. Generally that is a practice that most rental counter companies do. Right now I am booked with dollar for my 2 week trip in October, full size for $303 for 14 days, all fees. (I think my base rate is $118 a week--not bad for full size).

We used Dollar a few weeks ago (Aug 8-18). Very pleasant, and efficient experience. Like everyone else has mentioned, they are in the same building as Alamo. Another plus, is Dollar is located on the first level (some of the other companies are on upper levels), so you don't need to take your luggage up the elevator.
