Dollar rental tolls

I just reserved a mid size for 14 days for $308. ( think I should keep looking). My husband read the fine print & said if I don't purchase dollar's automatic toll pay service I will automatically be charged $15 every Ike I go through a toll. His doesn't sound right - anybody know the facts?TIA!

If you pay at the cash lanes/booths then you are not charged by the rental car agency.

However I suggest that, whenever possible, you use a manual (not exact change) lane and get a receipt.

At some toll plazas you need to go down what looks like an exit lane to pay using cash. Here the main lanes are electronic only and if you do not sign up for a rental car toll program and you do not have a (here, Florida) electronic transponder and account then the rental company will charge you (here, the $15.00).

From what he said there are some tolls that there isn't a cash option- only EZ pay. Which made no sense to me- there must have to be acash lane at each toll station right? Guessing if it ell Dollar to turn off the automatic toll and bring a roll of quarters I will be ok?

All tolls in the Orlando area have cash option. There are areas in FL. that only have EZ pay or Sun Pass, but, not here.......yet.

I would bring a roll of quarters and tell Dollar to take their 7.99 a day and forget it.

This is why I just got my own Sunpass 5 years ago makes it a lot easier.

I drove from WDW to the airport today via 417. There are manned toll lanes, 2 for $1.50 each. No lines today or on my way in on Sunday, not worth paying for a transponder.

Are there manned pay booths at every exit along 417 in case you want to make a grocery stop before arriving at WDW?

Along 417 yes. But if you get off at Orange Blossom Trail where Super Target is, there is an unmanned booth at the exit. I have used it many times and have not had an issue.

This Target is just 2 exits from Disney.

There are no tolls on I-4, which is the highway you take to Tampa. So, you won't even need your quarters.
