I have found that using the OCVB promo code I can get a Luxury car for $229 + tax per week. The website shows a Chrysler 300 as the example for this class of car. Has anyone rented a luxury car from Dollar at MCO? If so, what kind of car have you gotten? I would prefer a Lincoln or a Caddy since they have larger trunks. I am worried that I will not be able to fit all of my luggage in the Chrysler.

I have rented a Luxury from Dollar at MCO and I got a 300. I had 3 large, 2 medium and 1 small suitcase that was checked. Plus a small carryon bag. I had to put the small suitcase and the carryon in the car with us, after cramming everything else in the trunk! (and I mean cramming!! lol) That should give you some kind of idea about space in the trunk. I had a problem with the car and had to exchange it during our trip and asked what my options were for a different car in the luxury catagory, and they said none. So they brought me another 300. HTH

That just might work. I will have two full size suitcases, one medium and a small one plus some carry on. I may only have three suitcases instead of four. I probably won't know until we go. I want to bring an extra suitcase to bring back some souvenirs. My boys are planning on doing some shopping at the Leggo store so I will need it. I currently have a Standard SUV reserved but I like the idea of having my luggage out of sight on the last day after I check out. I know that I could leave it at the Hotel but I hate to take the extra time to go back and get it.

Dollar does have a class up from Luxury in some locations, it's called the StyleSeries. Models/Options vary by location, but Orlando is a StyleSeries location. Just something you might want to look into.

I am not really looking for a luxury car. I want a car with a big trunk. Unfortunately, the luxury cars seem to have the biggest trunks. With this promo code, the price is not too bad. Most other ones that I have seen are $500-$600.

You probably will be ok, but it may be tight. One of the things about the trunk is the spare tire takes up some of the room, so you have to put everything in there like a puzzle. But it did work for us. As for keeping your luggage out of sight, that is EXACTLY the reason we rented a car instead of an SUV!

Do you mind sharing your promo code or tell me where you found it? I need to rent a car for our trip and the rates for a luxury or any other car that my family can squeeze into, are insane. Thanks!

I used "OCVB". It is from the Orlando Visitors and Convention Bureau. You can also try "KISS" from the Kissimme Visotors Bureau. I found these code on mousesavers.com. There is also a corporate number from the OrlandoMagicard that was about $5 cheaper. Here is link:

I am going in late November and the rates were by far the cheapest for that category (Excluding the highly debated National code).

Thanks a bunch! I reread your first post and realized you had the code in there...duh! Anyway, great rates! Thanks again!!

Try thrifty using corporate code "004M001010". It is showing a luxury car for $215 a week ($270 total) for my week. I also used discount code "AU9711". The information is on the link in my earlier post for the Orlando Magicard. I got the discoutn code on mousesavers. I am not sure if the code helped or not but it is a good rate.

Yah, I had the 300 recently from them..it was the most beatup car I've gotten to date...even worse than the Jaguar I got where the gas pedal was broken in 2 and glued back together.. Yes, you heard that right..glued back together...for luxury cars in orlando, you gotta go independant...I reccomend Priority One Auto Rental..usually they have pretty good sales, and even if they don't they will negotiate sometimes......As for the luggage..thats alot of luggage...I would reccomend an SUV or a mid-range luxury car....the entry level cars can usually do well on a few suitcases, but even a caddy or a 300 only look big..they arent so much..An Audi A6, MB E-class, or Audi Q7 would be my reccomendations.

With Dollar or Thrifty?

Thanks, I will give them a try!

With Dollar or Thrifty?

I'm also wondering the same thing. The two I drove from Dollar were in good shape.

It was Dollar...I had a not so good experience with them. I rented a charger, had it one day and the tire went flat..they would not come change it without charging me, so I spoke to a manager who argued, then said he wasn't going to argue, and hung up on me. I called AAA. Next day I bring the car in, they upgrade me to the 300..and thats the one I was referring to above. It is an OK car..but I don't classify it as luxury.

Both Thrifty and Dollar show the standard 300 as their premium car and the 300 touring edition as their luxury car. I am just looking for the biggest trunk for the cheapest price. I am hoping that National will have a good last minute deal and I can do something with them.

We ended with a 300 our last trip. We filled up at WDW property, and had to stop again closer to the airport because the gauge was already off the full line. Big time gas Guzzler!

Yah.....I definitely had the "touring" one..I actually went onto the chrysler website to see what the difference was...and the answer...not much. And the kicker: it didnt have the sirius radio..>In fact, none of the luxury cars I rented had the sirius...even though the lower level cars did. Makes no sense..
