This will be the 3rd time that we have rented at Dollar and was wondering if they kept this particular gas policy since the last time that we were there in 99. Basically they kind of trapped you into buying the full tank option by limiting you purchasing your own gas with-in 5-10 miles of MCO. I cant remember exactly was the range was. In other words, they would not allow you to fill up at Disneyworld and then drive it in. Even though the gauge would not move from full, Dollar felt that you were cheating them cause the tank was not full in their interpretation. They would allow you to top off the gas tank if you could provide proof in the form of a receipt from a gas station with-in the 5-10 mile range of MCO.. If they still do this policy, which exit near MCO did you get gas and not have to prepay for a tank.

I felt cheated by this policy because we bought the full tank option and when we got into the car we noticed that it was only 3/4 full and we were in a hurry so we said why bother..
I have seen several gas stations just beyond the second toll booth on the beeline .. I was just asking to see if they qualify for the in-range gas receipt and how easy is it to get back on the beeline... Do you have to pay a toll at the ramp to get back on..

We have rented from Dollar at least 4 times in the past few years and have never heard of that policy. We usually fill up at the station near the Boardwalk and then go directly to the airport. Haven't had a problem yet.

Thats great to hear because I thought they were unfair to anyone that was not familiar with the MCO area and its gas stations. And of course they would not help you locate a qualifying gas station. They just wanted you to decide right there and then. On the lighter side I am getting a full size for 117/week plus 25 a day for 9 days.. The taxes alone are 55 dollars bringing the total up to around $220.. this was pre Sept. 11th .. the prices have gone up since then.. They must be thinking that the need for a rental will never downturn. I guess I will get off of my Anti-Dollar soapbox and get ready to enjoy WDW in 19 days..
Wilderness Lodge here we come..:p :p :p
