Dollar rates (for October anyway) are lower again with ENTERTAIN...

I have a reservation with National that I made in February that Dollar could never match even with the ENTERTAIN code.

Well, today I checked again and Dollar is now the SAME as my reservation of a Full size for 8 days...$205 total. ($126 weekly/$32 daily) and $20 less if you rent an Intermediate: 8 days = $185 total ($112 weekly/$29 daily).

I thought this might help someone who checked recently but had no luck...the rates at Dollar HAVE come down some!!!

Now I have a question, is it worth it to me to save the $20? I'm afraid my family of 4 and 3 suitcases and backpack and stroller and car seat will not fit in an Intermediate??? Should I stick with the Full size at National or get the Intermediate at Dollar and save a little?

Dollar says the Intermediate is a Dodge Stratus or similar.

thanks for the heads up....

just rebooked our nov 30 - dec 7 with dollar...

rate for intermediate is now 112$ with fees/taxes comes to 149.06$

As for the car size, look at Nationals description of the trunk on the full size, and compare it to Dollars Int. trunk. It should say how much luggage each holds and probably says how many cubic feet in each.

Also, as as a side note if you have not already signed up w/dollar fastlane: When I signed up we were sent a coupon to upgrade from a Int. to a full size car upon check in

KathyR, thank you for the Fastlane info. My husband is a member from when I thought we'd rent there last year; I am not.

I was just about to join myself just to get the coupon/upgrade in the mail with my membership when I realized....I have a coupon from my BJ's Wholesale club membership that states it's a "One Car Class Upgrade" on Compact through Intermediate....

Can I use this coupon? Do I have to enter it when I reserve or can I just bring it with me? I'm so afraid that if I plug in the Promo code, I'll loose the great ENTERTAIN rate...

What do you think?

I answered your PM, but here is what I wrote in case you check here first!

Does the coupon have any info on it? My dollar coupon just says to present it to the dollar agent checking us in. There is no coupon number on it. Is it an actual code you are supposed to enter? If so, I would say it is a no go unless the coupon states to just to present it upon check in, and does not mention anywhere to enter the code during the ressie process. Easiest way would be to call dollar and ask how that coupon works. They should be able to tell you right away whether you just need to bring it with you, or whether you have to enter it on the website while making the ressie. Either way I would make a ressie w/dollar now to lock in the rate. Then call dollar and ask about your coupon. If the coupon works like mine then I would just bring it with. If it does not, then I would sign up for fastlane, and as soon as you get your ID number check the new ressie rate, and if it is the same rebook w/your fastlane ID. If it is different, then I would contact dollar again, and ask if there is any way that they could add your fastlane ID to your ressie w/o loosing your rate and resend you a confirmation showing that you have a fastlane ressie. Thanks! Just used ENTERTAIN and got a compact for $108/wk base. Hope there isn't any problem using the code, but I can't imagine that there would be when you have a confirmation with the rate. It's my lucky day -- this and a $109/night rate at the Poly!

Just used the code again - 2nd time - and got a better rate also. $112 for October with Entertain code. Also called the counter in Orlando and she said that there was no problem using that code. I specifically asked her if she had seen this code being used and if there was a problem. She said "NO". So hopefully all will go well. I just have to cancel my other reservation at the higher rate.

How did you get $109 at Poly???????

pugsley.....intermediate is only 4$ more base rate.....112 vs 108 for compact......total rate for a week in sept oct and nov dec was 149$

Question for Dollar and Fastlane experts!

I made a reservation yesterday without plugging in my husband's Fastlane number.

Then I thought I should make a reservation WITH his card number so I did today. There is NO visible difference that I can see.

Does it matter? There is NO mention on the reservation that it's a Fastlane reservation/member.

Is that normal that there is no mention of it?

Oh lawgs, I am such a dummy! I noticed the $4 more but for some reason was thinking it was $4/day! Do you think it will mess up my reservation if I try to change it online? I don’t want to lose the rate!

on the screen where they gave you your Confirmation #, there is at the bottom of that page a section called

"Your Information"

it includes Confirmation # and then on the next line says

Fastlane ID

Thank you! I couldn't figure it out. Both reservations looked the same!!

Now I just have to call and give them my CC# when it comes....old one is about to expire!

It's a shame you can't do it online like at National's website.
