Dollar or Alamo Car rental?

Going to be in Orlando for 10 days in October and will rent a car at Airport. Narrowed down to two choices, Dollar and Alamo. Which one should I go with and why? Both about same price. Thanks

They are both reputable and on site which is very convenient. I prefer Alamo because you can check in at the Kiosk. I haven't rented from Dollar in a while but the last time I did I remember a long check-in line even as an Express member.

We have always used Alamo or National. However, for our upcoming trip, the prices were extremely high. We reserved a car at Dollar and saved $200.00. While I love the convenience of Alamo and National, the savings were too large to pass up.

I have used both and have been very pleased with the service from both.

I would go with Alamo though because if there is a problem with the car at any point you can turn it in at the Alamo Car Care Center near Poly.

I had this happen on my last trip. I picked up an Alamo at the airport. About 1/2 way to Disney I saw a service light pop on. I held my breath the rest of the way to the resort and once I got there I read the manual and it advised it was a tire issue. I called the 800 number on the Alamo contract and they advised to bring it in to the Car Care Center. I took it in thinking they would just check it, but they just traded the car out for me. It took all of 5 minutes. It was really a 'WOW! That was easy!' experience.

If the prices are the same, go with Alamo, for the reasons that Wild4Walt listed.

Not that I've ever had an issue with any car from Alamo; I've rented from Alamo many times at NCO and always gotten great cars and great service. But the security of knowing that the Car Car Center is so close by makes Alamo my first choice of rental companies.

I will rent from other companies if I can get the car significantly cheaper, but I always check Alamo first.

We have always used Alamo in the past. This year, however, their rates are significantly higher so we are giving Dollar a try. We got a rate of $19 a day, which is the lowest I have found to date. I will continue to check as our September trip gets closer, though.

I have used both and they were both fine but the last 3 years we went with Dollar because the prices were so much better than any other reputable renter.

We are going with Alamo/National for our October trip.

1.) Lower rates using the Costco coupons (anyone can print/use them) and rate ID code.

2.) We love the kiosk check-in = no lines and in our car in minutes.

3.) By riding DME for free to WDW and then picking up our Alamo/National rental car at the Dolphin resort, we are saving $120 vs. picking up at MCO. We will be returning the car to MCO before we fly home.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I usually always use Alamo when I fly into MCO, but so far, for this year's trip, Dollar has the better rate, so I will be using them. I've rented from Dollar at PVD and have had no problems, so hopefully, I will have a good experience at MCO.

If the prices are the same, I would choose Alamo. Convenient check-in at the kiosks and have always received a clean car.
