I agree ~ it's sods law, isn't it! If you make a move it'll rise further but if you don't it'll go down!

Ordered ours through Thomas Cook on Tuesday for collection at the airport rate was 1.65 and if it goes up on the day of collection they will honour the new rate....

The best i have found is 1.64 so will be buying ours tomorrow

If anyone finds a better rate let me know. Flying from Manchester on the 16th so will check out Thomas Cook as recommended by Mermaid2sea

Try this website - TravelMoneyMax.com. I wouldn't buy currency without checking it first now! From what I've just checked if you went to M&S or Travelex instead you'd currently get a rate of $1.656. With Travelex they're in most airports but if you pre-order online 1st you'll get a better rate than just turning up on the day!

another £50b of QE has been announced today which has caused a bit of a nose dive on the exchange rates
