Dollar General -- A new store in town -- any good?

Dollar General & Family Dollar stores are on every corner here, lol. New ones popping up weekly it seems. I like them for a quick stop instead of heading out to the big stores when you just need 1 or 2 items. They have really good clearance deals after a holiday I think. Dollar General does seem to have better customer service than Family Dollar in my opinion even tho that wasn't asked.

Thanks to all for the information. Sounds as if DG will be a decent option.

While the nearest grocery is 10 miles away, it is for sure not a favorite. A major chain and fully stocked, but they changed managers about 18 months ago and I am finding the employees are surly, prices are significantly higher. The best real grocery option is about a 20-minute drive, so the Dollar General will be a nice 4-minute-away choice.
