If I remember correctly there is sodium casienate in Dole Whips. Sodium caseinate iS a protein engineered from casein (dairy protein). It is a hazard for those with dairy allergies. DD11 has severe dairy allergies and we keep her from products with it in it. Milk has casein and whey proteins in it. Someone with a milk allergy is allergic to one, the other, or both. Even if your allergy is only to the whey proteins there is a cross-contamination risk with casein isolates and derivatives. I do not know the which milk proteins DD11 is allergic to but we avoid all milk derivatives. DD11 is IGE allergic to milk, so hopefully someone with some non-IGE milk allergy can chime in. Though from what I've read, those with non-IGE milk allergies should take the same care as those with IGE mediated allergies.
