Doing the World nutless and eggless with a side of asthma! Updated!

Santa is Ho ho here to. He's at the stage that if things make sounds, that is what he calls them. It's really cute. Heck, who am I kidding I think everything that boy does is cute!!

thanks for reading along. I'll probably be posting in bits in pieces because I can only post when he's napping or in bed (when I should be doing laundry or other household chores!) :rotfl::laundy:

DH got a chocolate milkshake for dessert and I got some apple turn over with vanilla ice cream. I don't have much food porn from the whole trip, I was too busy with Adam to take pictures. Plus we relied on my parents to take most of the pictures for the trip so I only used my iphone.

After we ate we walked through the gift shop, and I mean walked through to get into the lobby. Adam has a case of the grabby hands and I have a case of the spendies! :rolleyes1

We took Adam to the arcade and cashed in the voucher that came with our package for the 100 free tokens. It sounded like a big deal until we saw it was a whopping $2 value! Disney are you generous or what!?!?! :rotfl2:

There was some little bowling game in there that he loved. He wasn't coordinated enough to push it very hard, but he didn't care and had a great time. We played in there for a while and then went to walk around the resort.

I still hadn't gotten a text about the room being ready at this point. We went for a walk because DH had never stayed at Pop and we were hoping Adam would fall asleep in his stroller. We went back to the lake, hoping we would see some fish in the water. We then realized we should have saved Adam's pizza for fish food! We also checked out the splash area and then headed to the playground.

Adam was THRILLED to be out and running around. There was 2 other kids there playing at the time and both were very nice and played with Adam. The playground was in a nice shady spot and there was only one way in or out so it was easier to keep him contained. The only problem with the playground was they had tiny stones instead of sand or mulch and they were like quick sand! I don't think they are too safe for the old and clumsy! I almost killed myself trying to stand up quickly and didn't realize I had some rocks under my feet. The family got a good laugh out of it :rolleyes1

We still hadn't gotten a text about the room being ready so we decided to head back to my parents room for naps. I peeked in the window next door and their stuff was gone but the room was still in shambles. It was about 2 or so at this point. Since my parents were coming from their house they brought a cooler and soda, water and juice. It was a great idea and probably saved us a ton. We all had a drink and started winding down for naps. I washed Adam up and we were all out in no time, thankfully my parents room had 2 beds! I woke up when I heard housekeeping cleaning our room, as soon as they left DH went to see if his kep would work and it did. He wanted to go for a walk to he went down to the luggage people and grabbed our bags.

Once we got our luggage I was able to decorate the windows! I know some people are against it, but I love doing it. Plus the family appreciates it because it makes the room easier to find. My parents got fall and we got Christmas.

We had ADR for Trails End Buffet at 5:40 but everyone was still sleeping at 4:30 so I called and cancelled them. I finally woke Adam up at 5:30, I knew he needed a good nap but I didn't want to let him go to long and risk messing up bed time. We brought a kid sized aerobed for him to sleep on. He can get out of a crib/pack and play and I don't feel comfortable letting him sleep in a big bed by himself (even with bed rails) and we didn't want him in bed with us all week. It worked out really well but we had to move some stuff to get it to fit. We took the chairs and the table and put them between the other bed and the wall so we could put Adam's bed where they were.

Hey we had an ADR for Wednesday Nov 24th at 6:30 at Trails End and WE ended up canceling. We were still too full from lunch. I think that was the day we ended up having a late lunch of fish & Chips at Yorkshire Co. Fish in the England Pavilion. We'll have to do that one another time. We never did that one before.

On the other hand, we walked up to San Angel Inn at lunch time on Sunday the 21st and got a table for 6, and we walked up to Restaurant Marrakesh last Friday and was seated right away... about 7:15pm. Who needs ADR's?!

Great report! We were at BLT Nov 14-19. What a great week for crowd and weather! I can't wait to read about the reat of your trip. My nephew is dairy, nut and egg!!! We are going Jan 2012 for a big grand gathering and my DSiL says that they can't go. I want to see how things went for you, to see if I can convince her to go. We will also have a kitchen so I think that will help. Any info you can give will be wonderful.

Are they saying they can't go because of the food allergies? Disney is the best place to go with food allergies! I told my husband that Disney may be the only place we vacation because of how they handle it. I know dairy puts a extra twist on what I had but I know Disney has soy products that they use. At the buffets a chef would come out and walk me' through the buffet and tell me what he could and couldn't eat. My son is a picky toddler and even with that he was able to find enough to eat. The only place I had a little bit of an issue was Garden Grill. I really should have known better because they have a fixed menu and did not have the variety a real restaurant or buffet did. The chefs at Pop's food court bent over backwards for us and if you have a kitchen it will be even easier! I wouldn't let food allergies stop me from going! It does take some extra planing but is totally worth it! If you or your dsil have any questions feel free to PM me!

Even with moving stuff around in the room it was kind of a tight fit getting Adam's stroller in the door without banging it into the bed. That was really my only issue with the room. It would have been easier to have a room with one bed but I'm not sure if that's an option with connecting rooms? :confused3 It was really no biggie, just had to be more careful, especially if Adam was sleeping in his stroller!

My original plan for our first night was Trails End Buffet and then the camp fire with Chip and Dale. Since we knew we were going to miss the ADR I figured we would just skip the camp fire. No one was really hungry so we decided to head over to MK for a little bit. I was really excited to see it at night with the Christmas lights so I was thrilled to be going there first.

We didn't have to wait long at all for a bus and before we knew it, we were there! Adam was so excited seeing the monorail going past as we walked up to bag check. The security guard inspected every single nook and cranny of my bag, which of course in my bag I had more bags, so apologies to anyone who was behind me! He was more thorough than TSA! I'm not complaining, but wish TSA would take lessons from this man!

As we walked through the turnstiles the train pulled up. The look on Adam's face when he heard and saw the train is something we will never forget. :thumbsup2 He was just in awe of it. So needless to say first order of business was a ride on the train!

Here is Adam making his "wow" face when he saw the train coming.

He was so excited to ride the train that we ended up riding the train around twice. It turned out to be the last ride of the night for the train, so we had good timing.

After the train we decided to head up to Casey Jone's to get some dinner. My dad took some pictures while my mom and I got food and Brian changed Adam.

While my mom and I were in a very slow moving line, my dad finished up taking pictures and was on a mission to find a table. One BIG problem, it was 7:30 and Wishes was going to start at 8  Not only did I think we were not going to find anywhere to eat, I didn't want my parents to see Wishes considering we had a Wishes cruise booked for the following night and it was a surprise!

Once I got up to the counter I ordered 2 hot dog meals (one with apples because Adam can't eat the fries because they share the oil with the corn dog nuggets that have egg in them) and and an extra hot dog. DH and I split a soda and we got a milk for Adam (we used 2 CS credits and OOP the extra hot dog) and we got brownies for dessert which we saved for later. As I was grabbing ketchup my mom comes in and says "wait till you see the spot we got!" How about they got a really good spot to watch Wishes?!? I was really shocked considering it was 7:45! The food was really good and Adam must have been starving because he ate the whole hot dog!

The ducks were walking by in the little green area in front of the table by Casey Jones, Adam enjoyed watching them and quacking at them. It was really cute. The couple next to us was arguing over EMH and how you have to pay extra for them and only people with wristbands can enjoy them. I was back and forth about interrupting them because they were getting pretty heated! Once there was a break in their conversation I took the opportunity to explain that and about 10 other things that they were asking about. I'm really glad I helped them, but it's sad so many people are so misinformed!

Wishes was awesome as expected and Adam really enjoyed it, somehow the noise doesn't bother him. My parents really enjoyed it and I was thinking, good because you are going to see them again tomorrow and it's costing me $300! After Wishes we went to Baby Care center to change Adam and give him his medicine. I have to say I'm loving the baby care centers! They were great! We decided to call it a night after this, considering we were up so early that morning. My parents were going to take their time leaving and look around a bit.

We only had to wait about 7 mins for a bus as they were double loading them. Once on the bus only 3 people had to stand, I was really surprised Adam was still awake and didn't fall asleep on the way back. We got up to the room and DH couldn't get the door open, the key worked but it wouldn't open. We realized I left the latch on :rolleyes1:eek: We had the top latch on because Adam was able to open the door and flipping the latch over was the only thing he couldn't reach. Since we had connecting rooms with my parents a lot of times we would just head out their door and not pay any attention to ours. Whoops! I called my parents to see where they were and thankfully they had just gotten on the bus so we weren't going to have to long of a wait before we could get in. My DH, being a typical man wouldn't leave the door be and finally was able to shimmy it open using a credit card, a regular Macgyver I tell you!

Totally enjoyed your updates. You made me laugh talking about sinking and almost falling on the pebble at the playground, and then when you got back and had left the upper lock on the door

I can just imagine how excited Adam was seeing the monorail and the train and riding the train. He is a cutie. I have to tell you I envy you taking him now when he is so tiny, that was one regret I had, we did not go until my youngest was 9.

I am planning on trying the Trails end Buffet on our next trip if I can get a ressie for the Haunted Carriage ride over at the Fort.

Can't wait to read about your wishes cruise, I had set up to share and illuminations cruise but then we had to cancel our trip :sad2:

:sad2:

Glad you found it funny as did I! My husband was not to impressed with me for doing it until he was able to outsmart the lock, then he was amused lol!

We were going to wait for Adam to be a little older but my parents are not getting any younger so we wanted to make sure we went when they were still able to go. My parents said going back to the room for a nap every day made the trip much easier on them. I do have to say I didn't come home from the trip feeling like I needed a vacation to recover from this one so there really is something to be said about taking a mid day break!

Day 2

I woke up at 5:45 and Brian at 6:15, our plan for the whole trip was to not set an alarm. I knew Adam would not sleep past 8:30 so I wasn't too worried about it. We really wanted to make sure Adam got enough sleep and we did not run him into the ground. That is the one thing I read over and over again on the boards about taking a toddler, stick to their schedule and take breaks! I really think taking things easy made our trip so successful.

Brian showered and got ready while Adam slept and I got our park bags ready, I should have done it the night before but I was beat! Adam got up around 6:45 and we went to breakfast around 7:15. I headed down first to order Adam's food while the family finished up. I don't want to call it a problem but the thing with allergy food is that it is made fresh which means pipping hot! So it takes a while before I could feed Adam because it had to be made and then had to cool off. I am Still amazed how telling them you have a food allergy order is like hitting the panic button! Spoke with Chef Elizabeth again (she is super sweet!) and talked about a Mickey waffle for Adam and grapes and strawberries. The cup she gives him is huge! Adam LOVES fruit ( he started saying the word fruit on our trip!) so a big cup was always welcome! Plus the strawberries were a real treat because we haven't had any up here for a while ($7 a lb is why!).

When his Mickey waffle was brought out she asked how the pizza was and I let her know. I felt bad telling her, which I don't know why because it was a frozen pizza! She said we should have told her and she would have made him something else.

I figured I would just share Adam's waffle since it was so large and bought a yogurt for us to share. The waffle wasn't all that great, it wasn't awful but it certainly wasn't good. Adam did eat some of it (I think he only used it to soak up the syrup!) but mainly ate fruit and yogurt. Chef Elizabeth came to check on him and he picked up his waffle to show her, totally cute minus the mess he made. We quickly learned to bring Adam to breakfast in his pjs and then change him into park clothes.*

While we were finishing up they started doing the twist in the middle of the food court, it was really cute and Adam loved the music! We decided to save the waffle for fish food and headed back to the room to clean up sticky syrup Adam!

While heading back to the room I spotted a November Turkey in a window! I was so excited you would have thought I found $100! I didn't have any paper on me so I figured I would write a note back in the room and stick it to their door on our way to the park

We got back to the room and cleaned up Adam and got him ready for the parks, we also made sure I didn't pull a repeat performance with our door :lmao: I wrote up my note for the other Dis board member (which I only could find Adam's crayons!) and grabbed some fall leaves to stick on their door too (I used masking tape that was old so it stuck enough but not enough to case any damage).

As I was walking to their room I saw some people standing outside the door and I almost chickened out and kept walking :rolleyes1 but I'm glad I didn't! I met emt_pinky and her family and we talked briefly as we were trying to make RD and they had ADR's. They ended up in line behind us for the bus to MK so we got a little more of a chance to chat.

We missed RD by about 10 mins, I was really hoping we'd make it but no luck. Once we got into MK we took some pictures in front of the train station
(photopass) and found a shady spot to stop and put on sunscreen. I didn't realize where I sat our bags was wet and I mean wet! So the bottoms of our bags and some of the stuff inside got wet. Thankfully nothing important (diapers!) got wet.

As we were putting on sunscreen (which Adam hates!) the train pulled into the station so Adam starting chanting choo choo and pumping his arm, so we knew what our first ride would be. I have a feeling this will now be our new tradition (used to be a stop at Main Street Bakery and Wed Way). We rode one complete circle and then started heading up Main Street. Once again had some photopass pictures taken.

I wanted to get a silhouette done of Adam, this was very high on my to do list. My parents used to get them done of us as kids and I wanted to carry on that tradition. There was no one waiting so it seemed like a great time. Adam sat pretty good considering but I'm not really happy with it. I didn't have the nerve to tell the girl I didn't like it but I probably should have. I'll have to post a picture and see if you guys think I'm being picky or I have a valid reason.

We headed over to Tomorrowland and got FP's for Buzz, the wait time was only 15 mins but if we can avoid a wait, I'm all for it. The return time was an hour later so it gave us enough time to get some other stuff done. We rode Wed Way which is a family favorite and Adam enjoyed it. He was excited to see the sights especially the cars on the Tomorrowland Speedway.

We didn't think Adam would sit for COP and DH hates it, so we decided DH would take Adam to ride the speedway, my dad would take pictures and myself, mom and aunt would go to COP. The man in front of us must have been a first timer, he was laughing so hard at certain points. It was great to watch him. I think that's one thing that keeps rides from getting "old" to me is the other people who are on them and seeing their reactions (as long as they aren't flash takers!) We had perfect timing and finished up around the same time. Adam LOVED the Speedway, his favorite thing was making the car bang into the rails the whole time, he would just laugh and laugh and laugh. My DH said that ride alone made the trip worth every penny.

It was time to go on Buzz and I couldn't find our FP anywhere, I was starting to panic, thinking I lost them, then we thought DH had them so after looking in everything we had I found them in the stroller, whoops! Adam was kind of scared of Buzz and didn't really enjoy it, he didn't cry but he wanted to be held most of the time.

We gave Adam a snack and headed over to Toontown so Adam could run around. The little playground there was great for him! He was having so much fun just being around other kids and running around, not to mention how he could see the train from there. He would run around until the train pulled in the station then he would stop and watch it until it left then go back to playing.

I really wanted him to meet Mickey Mouse and we got in line to meet him they said the line was 20 mins which I thought was doable but it was getting close to lunch time and Adam didn't like just standing there so we ditched the line.

It was about 12:15 and we had ADR's for 1 at the Plaza Restaurant. We headed over in hopes of being taken early. Adam was getting to be tired and I knew food would hold him over until we got back to the hotel for his nap. They couldn't find our reservations when we checked in so I started to panic thinking the whole system mess with ADR's caused it to go bye bye. Thankfully I had my ADR #'s with my and they found it. Somehow it's under my mom's name. I have no idea how because I made the reservation under mine, but who cares! They were able to seat us pretty quickly.

The chef came out really quick to talk about Adam's meal. I have to admit after yesterday's pizza I was scared! Thankfully she was able to make him a grilled cheese out of good old Wonder bread! My DH is a picky eater and wasn't to thrilled with the menu, it looked like his only option was a burger. Thankfully our waitress started talking about the specials and one was meatloaf and mashed potatoes, his favorite! I had the club, parents had the strawberry chicken salad and Auntie had the tuna. Every one's food was great and Adam's sandwiches came out looking like Mickey! He ate so much, I think the poor kid was really hungry from his not so tasty waffle this morning!

DH and I are on the dining plan so our meal included dessert, I had the brownie sundae and he had a regular sundae. Adam's meal came with a sundae also (which they had allergy friendly cookies he could eat) but he didn't want it. The brownie sundae was really good and the pieces of brownies were huge!!

We were pretty tired so we changed Adam at baby care and headed back to the hotel to rest up for our Wishes cruise!
