:yay: Five days to go until our "Two Big Kids with No Kids Going to WDW Trip!" :yay:

It's getting close! We have start the official "This is for the trip" staging area for packing in our game room. OMG - it's almost time! We actually are going to Walt Disney World after years of wishing and waiting!

Everyone on this board has been so great with your tips for someone wanting it from the DL perspective. Thanks!

Latest updates for those who have been so helpful and might be interested:
  • Last night I secured a VERY last minute ressie for the Spirit of Aloha luau after winning (finally!) the debate with DH on whether to go to this one or not.
  • My DMom told us she wants to pay for our Wildlife Discovery Excursion tour that we booked at AK as her anniversary gift to us! :wizard:
  • My DMIL told us that she and DFIL want to treat us to something special on our anniversary night in WDW. (So that covers our Dining Around the World at the Food and Wine Festival on our anniversary night!) :wizard:
  • Our anniversary gift to ourselves is our brand new camera that we HAD to buy for our trip. (Snowball effect anyone? :rotfl: )
  • Work schedule for the week we are gone finally got published and I got ALL my days off as requested! :yay: (This was HUGE!)
  • And what might turn out to be the best part (anyone who has a DPet that means the world to them will understand this one)... some wonderful friends of our have offered to take care of our DPup at their place while we are gone so he doesn't have to stay in a little kennel at the vet. :yay:

Life's been dealing us some pretty big rough cards the last few weeks and we have been trying sooooo hard not to let our anniversary trip get tainted, which has not been easy. Every little spark of magic has helped with this. We can't wait to hit that airplane and leave everything behind for 8 magical days of celebrating 10 years together! (How is it possible that 1 our flower girls are now a freshman in college and a junior in HS???)

Thanks everyone for all of your tips, advice, and WDW insight. Somehow I knew posting on the DLR board would help me out in the way I needed most for a WDW trip. You all rock!

P.S. And now, an special offer for those who have been following / helping me with my questions.
If you posted at all on my "Please help" thread (which is here) I would like to offer the following:
To the first 10 that reply, if you have anyone (child, gchild, big adult kid at heart) in your world that would enjoy getting a postcard from WDW from a character, please send me a PM with a name and an address and I will see to it that they get a little "hello" from Mickey sent from WDW via mail. Thanks again for everyone's input. You really helped me understand how approach The World for this very special trip.

That's great! Congratulations on your wedding anniversary and everything working out in the end with your big trip!

You crazy kids have a good time! Make sure you don't come home before midnight! Party like there's no tomorrow, too!

You will Love the Spirit of Aloha. The food is good and the entertainment is great - we make the chicken recipe for parties and it takes over a day to make/marinate.

Remember to ask for recipes at the restaurants if you find something you like. Also, the F&W Festival shop has a nice cookbook for all of the recipes of the food bites at the Festival booths - I have the books from the last several years.

I'm so glad we could help! Thanks also for the Pixie Dust Postcard offer to everyone. If my girls were a bit older, it would be fun!

You must be sooooooooooooooo excited!! Have the BEST time EVER!!

wooohooo im sure your just as excited as we are *danceing away 3 more days*

I don't know if you all look at other areas of the DISboards, but I have posted a last minute panic thread on the WDW Resort section. If any of you have a minute to calm some last minute panic thoughts, I post this thread on the WDW section. Yep, the "AHHHHH!" thought it hit today and I am a bit panicky.
