You are going at an excellent time of year. We have been to Kuaui, Oahu, and Maui. Out of all Maui is our favorite. We stayed at the Four Seasons Maui last year and it is by far our favorite resort anywhere. We have stayed at Ritz, Westin, St. Regis, etc. and nothing else compares to the service at Four Seasons Maui which is probably why they have received the
AAA Five Diamond award so many times. Upon arrival you will be greeted by the valets which will give you a chilled towel and a bottle of water. They will take you luggage and your car (I think valet service is still complimentary). Every day we would call down and have our car brought around (Can't beat that) and would be given beach towels and bottled water. The service is very personalized and everyone seems to remember your name. They would also take the time to ask if you would like the top down (if you have a convertible)... if not they would have the air condition on and the car cooled down. At the pool (make sure you get there early to get a chase) we would always get a seat by the pool as well as a cabana and jump back and forth. Staff members would come around and offer you complimentary frozen fruit, ice water, popsicles, and an evian spritzer. Also, the great thing about the resort is that they do not nickel and dime you to death (Complimentary snorkel gear as well as other activities). FS also has the greatest spa that we have ever encountered. Have a massage in the thatched hut overlooking the ocean. I think the only problem that you may have is comparing the Four Seasons (your first stop) to the other resorts that you will be staying at.
In Maui, I would suggest the following must sees:
1) Drive to Hana
2) Drive to Haleakala Crater to see the sunrise
3) Wailea Shopping Center
4) Cheeseburger in Paradise (Lahaina)
5) Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
6) I would never go to Maui again without taking a scenic trip on Blue Hawaiian Helicopters through the West Maui Mountains.
7) Four Seasons - Ferraro's is a must.
