Doing the Happy Pin Dance

Booked a vacation to the world a couple of weeks ago for November. Called today to try and get a 2 bedroom at the Bay Lake. Unfortunately I struck out. I took this opportunity to ask if I had a pin. Cast member took some time to check....... Asked me to hold on while he stepped away....... He came back and said I have a pin for Free Dining!!! He then adjusted the price of my trip and that of my parents trip, even though they had a different reservation number.

A pin is an offer with a code only for your family. It is usually for a discount off your room or for free dining. Receiving a code is by chance. No one really knows how or why certain people are chosen but there are numerous theories. It can be received by mail or email.

No, one of the ways to generate one is to go to the WDW site and price out a vacation then save it.

I know this because I priced out a trip in September - shortly afterwards I received a snail mail telling me to watch out for an offer on my dates (my dates were listed on the mailing).

I then changed my dates to December and 3 months later I did receive an offer like they promised AND the listed dates had changed to my new December ones. The PIN was for free QS dining.

Last year I priced out a vacation with and without dining and received a free dining PIN that wasn't a GP code.

May I add though - this DOES NOT guarantee a PIN, I was one of the lucky chosen ... twice
