Doing the dcp with a car payment?

I just recently had to purchase a new car and was wondering if anyone has done the dcp while making monthly car payments, and what did you think of it?
I have not been accepted yet, and I can't be carless with school and work. I will be paying this off for 4 or 5 years so I can't do the program after. Also I live very far away from Florida and fairly far away from California so driving won't really be an option.

My roommate in 2009 had a car payment and she struggled more than the rest of us. At WDW, it was not necessary to even have a car. Out of the 8 of my roommates, only two of us brought our vehicles. You'll just really need to be money conscious. They don't pay well at all! Choose cheaper living, more roommates, don't eat out, etc. you can do it!

I am currently doing the DCP with a car payment. I also wasn't able to be carless for school and work, and am almost to three years since purchase (will be paying it off for another two).

I love my car, and more importantly, the freedom that it gives me, so I drove it here. It was a 22 hour drive, and it was worth every minute. I love having that freedom! If you can swing it, I'd really suggest reconsidering bringing your car. One of my roommates is reliant on the bus system, and it's awful; I drive her whenever I can because the system is so bad.

I haven't had a problem making my payments yet. Yes, you'll need to be a little more money conscious. Disney doesn't pay much, and car payments can be a lot of money. It'll be important to budget well, and pick up as many hours as you can, whether that's just with scheduled shifts or possibly picking up extras on top of that. So far, even with my car payments, I've been doing okay. You'll just want to budget well, and make sure you're getting plenty of hours between scheduled shifts and picking up shifts. It's absolutely possible to do!

I've done 1.5 programs with a car payment. (Made my last payment this past September!!) Budgeting will be crucial. I made sure that on the week before my payment was due I worked as many hours as possible and dedicated as much of that following paycheck as possible towards paying off my car and other bills. It's nice when you have a savings you can lean on during that time but it is certainly manageable on Disney pay. I HIGHLY recommend bringing your car with you on this program. It'll make your life more enjoyable and give you the freedom to do so much more, outside of where the Disney buses take you.
