Doing Legoland?

We are taking the kids to Legoland this trip. Does anyone who has been there have any touring strategies?

I thought Legoland was a beautiful little park -- lots of colours for the eyes, lots of little water splash ares for when its hot. Many of the lines for rides had "holding areas" where little ones could play with the lego while parents were in line watching.

It's not super-large and can easily be covered in its shortened day. Your youngest will certainly love the park, your two older ones might be bored. It tends to be great for the under 8 age. There were a couple smaller roller coasters, but nothing scary.

There really aren't a lot of touring strategies. I don't think we needed to wait more than 15 minutes for anything the whole day -- most things were ride on, but I tend to go when the park opens. Perhaps head for the "older" rides first as they tended to have the longest lines.

There were some instructional classes that the older set could sign up for -- I don't know much about that because my eldest was 7 at the time. You should look at the Legoland website.

Oh... and make sure you check their schedule before you go. Legoland closes for 2 days during the week during slower seasons, and that could mess with your schedule

Thanks we made sure to check our schedule as we heard about that! The two older are willing to give up a day for their little brother who has had to wait out many rides in the past before he was the golden "40 inches" Fortunately ds13 still LOVES Lego so he is fine with it and DD well she is looking forward to something new! One person told me to start at the back of the park and work forward so you dont have to go across the park when you are done which I thought was a great idea. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we make a nice day of it is is open 10-5 the day we are going so hopefully we can fit it all in!

We started clockwise... it does seem to follow a fairly circular pattern. However, you're right that most people start at the closest attraction and you would probably have less crowds starting at the back. I don't think it's ever too busy. You'll have a great time... if nothing else, there are tonnes of models to see.
