Doing DL on a teenagers budget

My 13 year old DD and her friend have been saving for over a year to do a trip to DL this June. With a "4th night free" promotion we are staying at the DL Hotel! That tops out their budget but the setting and convenience is a big priority for the girls.
Lucky me and the other mom get to go along.
Now we have been looking for ways to save $$. Ideas we have had include breakfast (power bars, juice) in the room, lunch as the best meal to have out, disney dollars bought ahead to be the designated souvenier budget.
I have done WDW and DL once each in the last couple of years and am familiar with the parks...How do YOU save on your Disney trip?

Welcome to the boards!! What a lucky Mom you are to have a Dd who can save that much money!!

We are from Portland,Or. too!! And we went to DL Jan.1 - 7 ,2003.

One of the ways we saved money was to go to the Discount Disney merchandise store to save money buying souveniers. I got a Tinkerbell sweatshirt for 1/3 of the park price!! I got DCA postcards for a penny!! I got a Minnie Mouse pen for $1.00!! this store is only a mile or so from DL.

Thanks! I had seen the outlet mentioned here before but didn't realize it was so close to the park. Shopping at the park can be so discouraging when you only have a little. This will be the perfect way for the girls to really shop!
