Alright, so here we go. I'm heading to Disneyland for the first time since about 1992. I'll be there November 15-19th. I got a decent package from Costco so I'll be staying at the Paradise Pier.

I have Minnie's breakfast scheduled as well as BBB (not on the same morning). Anything else that I shouldn't miss?

I know I have to go to Fantasmic the first night I'm there or I'll totally miss it. What other parades/shows are must sees?

Do they have something like Magical Express that I can sign up for? Hoping to avoid SuperShuttle if I can. It's not my favorite... it works, but...

I need to get to Beverly Hills one night. What's the easiest way to get there? A friend of mine was supposed to drive, but she now has another commitment and can't do it. I would really prefer not to drive if at all possible. I freak out driving in Seattle, I can't imagine what I'd be like trying to drive in LA!!!!!!! But it needs to be economical too. I can't pay a bazillion dollars to get there. My appointment is later at night and depending on what my doc wants, I'm not sure when I'll get out of there (the last time I saw him my appointment got over at around 1 am, but I don't think that will happen this time. I don't think I need any midnight bloodwork). So I have to take that into consideration.

Anyone know of a good scooter/ECV company? I'd like one for the whole time. I don't even think I can do DTD without it.

I guess that's all the questions I have for now. This trip is to really take my mind off the news I'm going to be facing at that appointment, so if you have any good suggestions on things to keep me occupied, I'd love to hear them! This has to be a magical trip. It may be a long time until I get to take another... Thanks!

I hope that you have an awesome time visiting the land! So glad that you are able to return this year.

There is the grayline bus that will bring you to the Disney Resort Area.
Just make sure that it is actually this bus service, and not someone pretending to be representing this line, when after they bring you to your destintion, will ask for far more money from what you would have paid with the real deal.

I love the Echanted Tiki Room, it is located in Adventure land. There you will find Jose and his marvelous songster friends, which are comprised of birds, flowers, and tiki's as well. And as you wait for this wonderment, outside in the rest/waiting area, you might be interested in partaking a Dole whip or float, or to take a bite out of a pineapple sphere.
And while sipping on that tasty Dole whip, sit back and enjoy a nice floor show of various tiki's who will greet you and tell you a little about themselves. Then turn to the video monitor that is just overhead near the Dole whip stand, so as to be amused and bemused by the sights and sounds of magical Hawaii!
There are also restrooms located in the immediate area, they are nice, clean and no waiting (From my experience anyway)

Aloha!

Deckert's is a scooter rental company that gets a lot of good press on the boards. On the OC tourism website there's a coupon for them I do believe.

For getting to the parks by the way, don't follow the signs in PPH. Those signs will take you all the way through DTD. Instead, go out the front sliding doors, get to the crosswalk, go over to the Grand Californian. In the pretty doors, turn left as soon as you can. There's a ramp on the left of that long hallway, by the way, it sort of joins the main path, leaves the path, joins, etc. Then follow the herd out the sliding doors on the right, and that lets you out about half way through DTD, between Sephora and the new sort of makeover place (replaced Libby Lu, if you had heard about that), across from Haagen Dasz. Turn right!

There is Grayline's Disneyland Express, which is a big coach bus. There are also limo companies, towncars...

Midnight bloodwork, yikes! Hope there's none of THAT!

Others will have to chime in with getting to BH.

Have fun!!!!!

Thanks Gisele! Is it the original tiki Room still? That's my favorite! In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room... ahhhhh. I love Jose. I also love me some Dole Whip. Definitely doing that!:banana::banana:

Thanks for the restroom info too. I'm always in need of those! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks Molly! I have no doubt I'm going to have a good time. This time I can do it at my speed since it'll just be me.

I'll check out Deckerts. I'm so familiar with the Florida companies, not so much with the DL ones though...

I'll have to print out those directions. :thumbsup2

The Disneyland express works for me unless I can get a good limo deal. I've never ridden in a limo so it would be kind of fun... :cheer2: But I think it'll be the old Greyline for me...

Yup, midnight blood work. I had to do that last time I was down there. Thank goodness I was staying across the street, so it was an easy walk home...

You are most welcome! You might be interested in this Disboards link too.

Yes, thank goodness, it is still the original Tiki room! It is not under new management, unlike at WDW. So therefore there should be no need for throwing peanuts etc. (As I clear my throat) at the new manager, for this is not one..... good!
Now technically there is about 7 minutes or so I believe it is, that had been removed from the show several years ago. If you do not remember the difference then you will be fine with the show. I am hoping that Disney will bring the complete original format back one day, and soon at that.

How fun! I'm so glad you will get to stay on-site for your first return since DL became DLR!

Don't miss Aladdin at DCA! It's not like the ride at WDW. It's a live performance that's supposed to be out of this world. I've yet to hear of someone who didn't think it was a fantastic show.

Do they have something like Magical Express that I can sign up for? Hoping to avoid SuperShuttle if I can. It's not my favorite... it works, but...

Here's a thread that discusses the many options and costs of the Disneyland Express, Super Shuttle (including their private and more comfortable cars), PrimeTime Shuttle, and some contacts for limos. There's information on coupons and a link to the coupon page at the bottom of the first post. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2318297

Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks for the link! I much appreciate it!

I'd die if they changed this Tiki Room to the Under new Management one. That thing drives me nuts! The original is classic!!!!! We'll see if I remember the difference or not. The only thing I care about is those annoying birds won't be there and my Jose will be.:banana::banana:

Here is a link for a $5 savings for Grayline's Disney's Express busline.

$5 coupon

Thanks for the coupon! Coupon good!

Seems like a limo would be great fun! :)

A limo would be fun... maybe on the way home. :woohoo:

Thanks! I'm pretty excited to stay on-site too.

I will definitely check out Aladdin. It's not my favorite movie, but I'll bet I like the stage show.

Thanks for the thread. I'll check that out! I'm sure anything other than the Grayline will be out of my price range...

I was skeptical about the Aladdin show too. In fact I put it off for the first 2 days of our last trip before finally giving in. It was actually a really good show and will be on our to do list again in the future! (not to mention that it was nice to get off our feet and into a nice air conditioned room for a while)

Oh yeah, can't forget to throw out my support for a DOLE WHIP even though you already confirmed that is in the plans.

We ate at Cafe Orleans for the first time last trip and I would put the Monte Cristo and Pommes Frites on their menu up there on my list of favorite foods too!

Yes, air conditioning can be nice. :thumbsup2

Hi, my name is honugirl and I'm a Dole Whip addict! I love the pineapple floats. :thumbsup2

What is Monte Cristo? Aren't pomme frites french fries? :confused3

The Monte Cristo is a sandwich. They have 2 types. A 3 cheese and one with Ham, Turkey, and Cheese. Its battered and deep fried and then sprinkled with Powdered Sugar. I was also skeptical about this because I am not always a fan of mixing sweet and savory...

It was delicious.

The Pommes Frites are french fries with crumbled parmesian cheese and minced garlic on them. Although they are not that healthy and love them and the benefit is that regular fries dont taste as good anymore and I eat less of them after have these...LOL

The Pommes Frites are essentially crack for garlic lovers...like me. My hubby thankfully shares my addiction. On any given night my breath could stun a Vampire at 30 paces.

If you don't think Garlic deserves its own place in Heaven, then these fries may not be your thing.

As for Must Do's I want to add eating Lobster Nachos and enjoying your libation of choice at the Cove Bar. I just love sitting there and watching the world go by.

You mentioned being in a scooter, and I want to encourage you to do the Nemo Subs. There is virtually never a line to do the "alternative experience" for those in mobility machines and gosh darn it, I get a bit claustrophobic in the subs and like the alternative version even better, and I don't have to stand in line for hours either. Perfect.

It is one of the few times where I think it is easier/better to be scooterific.

Have fun on the trip and try to avoid midnight blood tests. Actually, that reminds me....maybe the pommes frites will help you ward off any "nocturnal bloodsuckers" on this trip.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

My son just pointed out to me I am a big dork. Which is accurate, but I am a happy dork.

no, you don't sound like a regular, not at all, nope, not at all :rotfl2:

I love the pommes frites too! And the remoulade sauce that is served with them is just so delicious, so say my taste buds! :) Addictively so matter of fact......

OMG - I am dying over here...that just cracked me up. :lmao: I just about spit Golden Grahams out all over the place (yes, I am eating Golden Grahams at 10:30 at night...:rolleyes1)

Thanks! I don't mind being scooterific! I'll check out the Nemo subs. Maybe I'll do it both ways... hmmm. We'll see how long the line is. I'm not into standing much. The lobster nachos sound interesting. I'll have to check those out. :thumbsup2 Where is the Cove bar?

He he he, maybe the garlic fries will keep Dr. Z away! I secretly think he's a vampire... :rotfl2: But he's cute so.... yeah.

I also am a big chubby happy dork and I'm OK with that now. :thumbsup2

I love the pommes frites too! And the remoulade sauce that is served with them is just so delicious, so say my taste buds! :) Addictively so matter of fact......

Ok, OK, OK, I'm going to go try the pommes frites! Y'all have convinced me that it's necessary. he he he. :woohoo: But so help me, if I come home, I'm blaming all of you. :snooty: :upsidedow

OMG - I am dying over here...that just cracked me up. :lmao: I just about spit Golden Grahams out all over the place (yes, I am eating Golden Grahams at 10:30 at night...:rolleyes1)

Mmmmmmm, golden grahams. I love those.... I'm eating pumpkin pie at 2 am and I have pumpkin donuts for breakfast...

Thanks everyone!

I think the other thing that will keep the midnight vampires away will be that I'm going to BBB the morning of my appointment so I'll be in full princess regalia. :lmao::lmao::lmao: Thou doth heading for the gallows if thou doth poke the princess. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

So, if you're in Disneyland those days and you see a 30 year old zipping around on a scooter in full princess regalia and a Cushing's awareness t-shirt, say hi! That'll be me. :woohoo:

I'm sooooooooo excited that you're gonna be there when we are!

I'm sooooooooo excited that you're gonna be there when we are!

Yay! Someone else from here going!!!!!! Woohooo!!!!!!!!

I just ordered my scooter from Orange County/Scootervillage (I think they're one and the same... scooter village just happens to be across the street). I used the 10% off coupon that someone directed me to. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 So it'll be $175+ taxes and fees minus 10%, so that won't be too bad for the 5 days I'm there. I'm going to be scooterific! Woohoo!!!!! My knees are thanking me already... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

So my last decisions are how to get from the airport to Disneyland and how to get from Disneyland to BH.
