We're I think 12 miles from my parents, and about 35-40 I think from DH's. May be a little more

We live about 3 miles from my parents. Now the house we live in is on property owned by my husbands family. It was owned by the grandparents, sub-divided for the kids when they got married, then subsequently sub-divided for their kids so my in-laws live in front of us, on our right is his aunt and uncle, on our left is another uncle and across the street is another aunt and uncle and a cousin. There are two houses that are not occupied by relatives, though one is such a close friend that he is considered a relative. How's that for close?

Well, I live about 2,000 miles from my mom. DH's parents are gone and buried in Malta, so you could say he's very far away from them. His brothers live in Michigan which is a 13 hour drive. (I don't know the mileage.)

We would love to live closer to any of them. In fact, he started looking for work in GA and TN because it's pretty much in between both Michigan and Florida (where I am from).

Now if any of these job searches would actually produce a job for him...

We live about 5 miles form Dh's parents 2 miles from my Mom and about 50 miles from my Dad and Step Mom.

Well, let's see....we live about 2500 miles from DW's family (they're in northern Michigan), about 2600 miles from my dad (he's in P'Cola, FL) and about 10 minutes from my mom....

My mother lives 1200 or so miles away (my father died long ago) and my husband's parents live about 600 miles away.

We live close to both our parents (6 miles from mine and 12 miles from David's). I have seven brothers and sisters and so does David. They all live fairly close to us, most in the same state although I do have one sister that lives in TN.
I wouldn't mind living further away from family but not too far, I want to be able to see them every month or so if possible. The most important thing to me in living close to family is the relationship that Ashli has built with her grandparents and aunts and uncles. She is close to all her family, on both sides and I think that has been important in giving her a sense of who she is and where she comes from.

When I got married I moved to my DH's house which was about 15 minutes from my parents(2 towns over). 4 years later we found a house being built 1/2 mile from my parents and bought it!

As for DH's mother, she used to live in Florida which was wonderful, but then she moved back up here, to the town we used to live in, so shes about 15 minutes from us...but it doesnt really matter.

Currently we live about 1200 miles from both my parents and DH's parents. They are in Michigan and we are in Florida.

Well we live about 30 minutes maximum from our parents.

We used to live about a hour --two hours away.

We moved due to the lower cost of living in our new town, and being new our families was a nice bonus. Actuallly my parents are moving to another state when they retire next year.

My DH mother is the only one living. She living with my SIL and BIL in Port St Lucie, FL which is 1hour and 30 mins away from us.

DH's parents live about 2 miles...they moved back from Atlanta about 4 years ago...

My mom and her husband live about 3 hrs in NY just moved from Pensacola FL a few months ago..

My dad and his wife live about 11 hrs in NC juts move less then a year ago from Ft Worth Texas...

So, nobody is too close on my side and they would be the ones to offer a helping hand...

We live about 10 miles from my parents. For many years we lived right next door to DH's parents, but 3 years ago his Mom died of ALS and a year later his Dad remarried and moved in with his new wife. So, our DS and his family now occupy the house next to us, and our DD and her DH live about a quarter mile down the road. I love it...most of the time!

My mom (my dad died 10 years ago) lives about 13 miles from us.

DH's parents live about 3 1/2 miles from us.

Right now, I live about 20 min. from my mom, about 15 from my dad and about 25 min. from MIL. FIL passed away before I knew DH. I say for now because my Dm is moving to Fl. My DM and all her sisters have decided to buy homes within 10 min. of each other. She has begged us to move with her but DH absolutely hates FL weather in the summer, so it's not gonna happen. Too bad she's not moving closer to Disney!!! She'll be about 3 hours away.

Only have my dad and he's about 6 miles from me. DH only has mother and she's about 13 miles from us.

My parents live about a 5 minute drive from us (depending on how you hit the lights), or a brisk 25 minute walk.

My parents live next door and my DH's parents are gone. His Mom only lived a block away when she was alive.

We live about .3 miles away from my dad (mom died almost 10 years ago) and about 400 or more miles from my in-laws. A lot of my family on my mom's side is within 60 miles or so of here and I just want to stay close to them all
