So glad you found me! It was a magical trip! Did you see how I liked the dragonberry colada?:thumbsup2

Great pics of all the animals!

Thanks! I was having fun taking LOTS of pics! The men in my house just glaze over when I suggest looking at them, so I'm glad to share them here!

We arrived and leisurely walked into DTD:

I love that they even having theming here!

These pics do not do justice to the beautiful window displays:

We headed over to our lunch destination:
IMG_2727.jpg

We looked at the menu posted outside, and then I got in line while sis settled mom and dad outside in the shade. She soon joined me before it was time to order. We handed over the card to use our CS credits. After getting sodas for everyone, we went to the table to wait:
IMG_2728.jpg

We sat enjoying the nice weather, and soon the meals arrive. Dad had a beef and gorgonzola pita sandwich:
IMG_2730.jpg

Mom and I had a BBQ chicken on focaccia:
IMG_2731.jpg

The sandwiches were served with delicious potato chips. My sandwich had the right amount of spunk. My dad usually doesn't like much in the way of greens, but he loved the dressing and cheese so much he ate it all!

My sister went with the chicken fingers and fries:
IMG_2733.jpg

It was such a big platter that she only ate half the fries, as we had dessert waiting:
IMG_2732.jpg

YUM!!!!!!! See the hidden Mickey? These were soooooo creamy and delicious! Dad had an oatmeal raisin cookie, and he enjoyed that.

After filling up, I wanted to head to World of Disney. I wanted to get a t-shirt, chocolate for my DH and DS, and mom wanted to get some things for gifts. I get the discount using my Disney Visa here.

Took a few more pics on the way over:

Mom took this one of me with a few celebraties:

Dad didn't feel like going in, so we parked him on the side in the shade, and proceeded to shop.

A pretty tea pot (didn't buy it):

Cute store decorations:
IMG_2742.jpg

Ended up buying three of the tote bags. Decided to give one to mom and one to sis for Xmas. Went outside with all of out purchases, and headed back to the bus.

Couldn't convince anyone to pose here, so I took a pic anyway!

It seemed like a long time until the bus came, but I'm sure it wasn't more than 15/20 minutes. But sis and I were looking forward to some relaxing pool time!

Next: Afternoon at the pool

Great DTD update, and your WPE food looked really good! I especially loved the pic of the teapot. DD13 wants a Disney teapot for Christmas, and I'm hoping to pick one up when DH and I are there in 2 weeks!

I wish I could be there when all the holiday decorations are up. They are so beautiful, but I will have to wait until Feb. I am really enjoying your report and can't wait for more.

Oh, that would be a lovely gift! How exciting that you will be there for all the hokiday decorations!

Thanks! I see you were on the EB Repo; so were we! Wasn't that a fab trip?

When we arrived back at the resort, we took a detour through the gift shop. I snapped pics instead of purchasing since I had gotten enough!

Magnificent, aren't they?

Then my sister and I changed and headed to the pool. We found some chairs towards the back that had some sun, and we sat down. Of course, I almost immediately jumped up and headed to the pool. I was determined to go down the slide this time! I took my waterproof camera in and took a few shots:

I headed over to the slide. I was the only adult using it! Most of the kids came up to my waist. A little boy chatted to me the whole way up.

Well, it wasn't as great as the one at Boardwalk, but I enjoyed it enough to go three times! It was getting a little chilly, so I go out and dried off. We took the long route back to the room to check out the critters:

Back in the room, our parents were out on the balcony. Critter city!

We had to tear ourselves away to get ready for dinner. We had 7:10 ressies, but I wanted to get there a little early to request a window table. My parents had never seen Wishes, so I wanted them to get a good view. My sister drove us over, so we didn't bring the wheelchair. After arriving, we slowly made our way to the back to the elevators. Taking pics was a good excuse to stop frequently!

IMG_2819.jpg

We headed upstairs and it was packed!!! I made my way across the room to check in, and there was a line! I waited about ten minutes, then I gave my name to the guy and ressies time. He couldn't find it!!! I was floored! I did not have the ADR # with me, so he told me I had to talk to someone else. I waited another few minutes, and this guy looked and told me that it didn't exist! I told him IPO made the ressie, and he said, "Who?" I mumbled nevermind, figuring he would have to DIS to understand. Then I started reading the screen upside down; sure enough, I found my name! So the guy wrote out the slip, and told me that if I wanted a window table, it would be an hour. Quick conference, decided that wouldn't work, so we would take whatever was available. He told me it was my lucky day and a table would be ready in 5 minutes. Then he said I didn't need a buzzer, just wait in the area. My parents had scored a few chairs near the bar area, so I went to wait. I anxiously watched the area. After five minutes, I wasn't called and the guy was gone! I went up to see how much longer (read: you didn't lose me again!), so the gal gave me a buzzer. Another ten minutes, and it was finally time!

A guy who abviously eats here a lot!

The hostess grabbed out bread here (two, please!):

The pit where our delish dinner was flaming:

The yummy bread!
IMG_2820.jpg

I have to get that recipe!

I ordered a Pina Colava, and it was fab! The salsd is in the background; it had the most delicious dressing:
IMG_2821.jpg

Everything followed quickly. Chicken wings and wontons (I didn't get a full pic of those, but they were tasty!):
IMG_2822.jpg

Then the veggie and noodles came out (you can see the tip of the wontons):
IMG_2823.jpg

Then the meats came around. There was turkey, beef, pork, and peel-your-own shrimp. It was sooooooo good! I don't have any pics to share as I was so busy eating! Then it was time for Wishes. We were actually only a few tables back from the windows, so we didn't have a perfect view, but we had a good view. My parents loved it! They were so impressed with the way Disney did it. I just love that show!

I forgot to mention that they have entertainment. It was so cute to see the kids enjoying themselves here. The woman was so perky! A boy of about 7 or 8 a few tables from us was collecting the leis from everyone at his table. He was so thrilled to be almost smothered in leis!

Finally stuffed with dinner, it was time for dessert:
IMG_2827.jpg

WOW!!!!!! This is incredible!!! The sauce in the little pitcher was a bananas foster, with little slices of bananas. And the ice cream was sooo creamy! What a fantastic ending to the meal!

After leaving the restaurant, we decided to check out their gift shop.
We saw lots of kids posing for pictures sitting on this drum:

This guy was in the gift shop:

These were outside the Wyland Studio:

Then it was time to head back and pack as tomorrow was our last day.
Good-bye to the Poly:

Next: Sunrise Safari

I should never ever look at pictures of AKL when I have resort planning on my brain. :lmao:

:rotfl2:It's so hard to decide when there are so many great resorts! But Disney always works magic, so there are great restaurants you can go to to get a resort fix! Stay where you want, then make Boma ressies to get your AKL fix!

I will never get tired of seeing Ohana food pics! I love their breakfast, and want to eat dinner there soon!

We had breakfast there once, too, and thought it was fab! They went out of their way to make things for my niece who didn't eat meat or dairy. They made her egg-free waffles and some huge platter of stir-fry.

Just saw your ticker - it's new, isn't it? It sounds like the trip of a lifetime! I as in Namibia in 1999 and loved it! Seeing those animals in their natural habitat is wonderful! :goodvibes

Yes, it is new. This is a dream trip for my sister, and I'm glad to go with her! My DH isn't too excited about it, so I don't mention it too much at home! But my sister has always been so supportive and come with us on many big trips, so how could I say no? I'm looking forward to seeing new things and having a great time with sis!

Your TR is getting me so excited for our February trip. I have visited AKL many times, but it will so much better to be able to actually stay there and watch the animals from my own balcony. I even asked for binoculars for Christmas so I will have them for our trip.

Just catching up on your TR again. Now that the holidays are over I am in full Disney swing for our trip in April. I love all the AKL pictures and thanks for the pictures at Ohana. We will be eating there for the first time and the food looks delish:love:
