Doh!!! I booked my flights in reverse!

I've been a maniac today packing for our spring break vacation. We leave tomorrow. Today I called Southwest b/c I lost my confirmation number and I needed to tell them about my son's peanut allergies. To my horror, they can't find me in the computer. They finally found my flight reservations and turns out I got the cities mixed up online when I was booking my flights! I booked the legs in reverse! So instead of flying TO my destination tomorrow, I'm booked to fly home and next week instead of flying home I'm booked to fly there.

I can't believe I did this!! All the flights are sold out for tomorrow so I can't get on anther one. I guess we'll be driving 10 hours. I feel bad for the kids b/c I got them all excited about flying on an airplane tomorrow! I guess we're lucky we're going somewhere within driving distance!

Oh no! What a bummer! I guess the one good thing is that you figured it out now and not after you're at the airport. How does SW handle your tickets?

Yes, I am sooo happy I didn't figure this out at the airport! It would have been so much worse then.

Southwest says I can apply the cost of the tickets to another flight within the next year and that works for us, b/c we were going to Florida in the summer anyway.

I thought there was a "forehead slapping" similie but I can't seem to find it...

Well, if it helps any I made hotel reservations for this weekend and for some reason I only made them for one night instead of 2..I did go and add another night, I am just hoping the hotel can figure out that it is "supposed" to be the same reservation and not 2 seperate ones and doesn't make us change rooms!
I also booked a wrong DATE with Southwest...they probably think Buffalo people are stupid! LOL! I was flying to Orlando when my Mom ended up in the hopsital while in vacation. I booked my flight to go down on-line and when I went to print out my boarding pass it wouldn't let me...so I go on-line and I saw that I booked my flight for the next day! I needed to get down there fast and couldn't wait a day, I called them and they were really nice about getting me on a flight that day (in about 5 hours to be exact)...lucky for me the flight was not full (there were only about 20 people on the plane).

You seem to have a good sense of humor...you made me laugh with the "doh!!! and forehead slapping" comment. I'm only laughing about your expression...I'm sure that was very frustrating. I hope you have a very safe "car" trip down and back!
