Dogs in non pet loop again

Just like last month, we were in 1000 loop. On my way back to RV with GS in arms asleep, I see new neighbor setting up. Low and behold there are 2 huge brown dogs watching. Remembering that wife checked at time of arrival about 1000 being pet overflow (it is NOT), I call Outpost and ask if 1000 is overflow. They say no, so I mention the 2 dogs and CM says he will check to see of they are boarding the dogs. NOPE. CM says he will send someone over. Security shows up and camp has to be broken down and they move out. Wound up seeing them in 1800 loop later in the day while on a bike ride.
Since you have to sign a paper stating you will not pool hop and you have no pets, why do some people feel they are beyond the rules?

This is 2 stays in a row in the 1000 loop with dogs next to us.

How come people are not honest? I'd rather go strait to a pet loop, then have to pack up camp and move. How relaxing could the vacation be if you feel you have to hide your dogs the entire trip? We have reserved 4 sites in a pet loop for Aug., as we are all bringing our beloved pets.
Maybe since the family you saw had to move, they will be honest next time............................

I've not actually stayed at FW yet..been many times...plan to stay in August. So I'm wondering...what exactly is the lure of the 1000 loop that they would want to stay there and sneak in the dogs. I mean the 300 loop is also a preferred loop and a dog loop ...form what I understand..why wouldn't they just ask for that. Is the 1000 loop preferred or full? I mean I have a dog..and wouldn't want to sneak him in..or worry about being seen. Personally I would probably leave him home...as we doesn't do well with other dogs..so he'd bark alot if we stayed in a dog loop.(People he loves..dogs..not so much). Is it that they are saving the extra money ...not telling about the dogs. I mean really how do sneak two dogs ...like no one is going to notice!

Since FW changed their pet policy it seems more and more guest are abusing the campground. I have seen loose dogs between the Meadow TP & 1300 and over by the campfire are. It really has been a disappointment to c/i to a site and find it dirty with little piles from the previous guest's dog as well. Personally I think they should go back to the no pets policy.

Well, as a person who always camps with my dog I don't really agree with a no pets policy, but I do agree with folks like John keeping other owners honest. If you see someone violating these rules, call the Reception Outpost.

I always clean up after Natasha. This usually occurs in the pet walk area, but sometimes she finds a spot she likes better as we are walking there.

I do notice that not everyone cleans up after their pet. That is truly sad; if you bring one you should take responsibility of cleaning up

I agree with Tim, there are alot of responsible pet owners out there. We always clean up after Cookie. We love having her with us, and are willing to pay the extra cost of bringing her along. If all pet owners felt the same way, there would be no problems with pets in any campground.....................

I think it's folks like that who ruin it for others who do clean up after our pets...gives dog owners a bad name. We have a seasonal site in a campground...and I can't tell you how many folks walk by with their dogs and wouldn't bother to clean it up if we didn't happen to be right there. They act like they didn't know it was going to happen...and they shrug the shoulders and say they didn't think to bring anything, that they'll be back...I just tell them" no problem..here you go.." and hand them a baggy! You gotta see the faces!
Also....are you allowed to walk your dog in Ft. Wilderness...I mean I understand there are loops...but shouldn't you be staying in that loop with your pet..are you permitted to walk them outside of a pet loop?

It's my understanding that you must keep the dog in the pet loop.
I think even if you are taking them to the kennel, you would have to drive so you were not walking them where they are not authorized. There are dog walks near each pet loop, so there is no problem with keeping them where they are allowed.

The pet loops were chosen for their access to pet walk areas. Three "pet walk" areas include a canal pet walk off the 1800 loop (which services the 1600-1800 loops), a canal pet walk off the 300 loop and a nice wooded walk behind the 700 & 800 loops. You must drive them to the kennel, you can NOT walk them to the kennel, nor can you walk you pets out of the pet loops themselves.

We were staying at the 1500 loop March 27-April 9 and also saw someone setting up with a dog ... trotting around the loop just as bold as you please.

I notified the front desk who sent Security out and moved them to a pet loop.

I find it hard to believe that they were unaware that pets were not allowed just anywhere ... the pet loop was more expensive (than a basic site on 1500) so maybe that was the reason.

I think its great that people can bring their pets, but it is especially important that they educate themselves regarding EVERY campground rules/regulations prior to making a reservation. I've never been to a campground that didn't clearly spell out rules/regulations specifically regarding pets.

I guess if they don't ask then they can play stupid; however, when you are paying that much for a campsite, you expect people to play by the rules.

We always stay in the pet loops and pay to board our beagle during the day at the kennels. Considering the cost of a Disney vacation, the kennel and the added pet fee for the pet loop are negligible. It seems incomprehensible to me that someone would try to get away without paying the extra 5 bucks a night for the pet loop. I guess there are all kinds. In general, though, these are probably the same type of person that would say their six year old is under three and fill their purses and pockets with sugar packs at Trail's End.

I didn't even know pets were allowed anywhere in the camp ground at Fort Wilderness.
