Has anyone had any experience taking their dogs to the resorts? I'm not asking about service pets. Just the 4 resorts that Disney allows dogs at.

Yes, I've taken my Pomeranian to all 4 pet friendly resorts and they are wonderful! Disney World is wonderful to our fur babies. I love being able to come back to the room and have my little girls there. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

I have heard a yippy little dog once at POR and it did not carry on for long. I have a serious-ish dog allergy and was concerned about my fav resort opening their doors quite this wide for the furred friends, but... so far it hasn't been an issue. Pet allergies are nowhere near as lethal as others but they can trigger anaphylaxis and to that end I have started travelling to WDW with my epipen where I was unlikely to take it before.

Despite my dire concerns, it's really been a non-issue so far.

My main concern is really what happens when mousekeeping accidentally lets one out or gets bit. But, cross that bridge whenever.

I thought the rules were that housekeeping would not enter a dog occupied room if the owner was not there. There is a special room tag on the door handle.

mousekeeping not allowed in without owner there but also remember a service dog could have been in any room at any resort and may or may not have told resort. by law don't have to from what i have been told

Quite right. But the percentage of vacationers with service dogs to those with pets is pretty small. With pet allergies the concern is that a load of allergens will build in the environment and then on the person. Opening doors to pets simply hastens the build up of those antigens that may trigger an allergic reaction. But ... as I have said ... so far, it hasn't been an issue.
