Dogs At Disney

We are thinking about going to Fort Wilderness just to camp for a week (we can't afford to do the parks right now). I will be bringing my little Yorkie puppy. Can I take her to Downtown Disney as long as I hold her and not going into any stores? I still want to eat at Earl of Sandwich, but we can sit on a bench somewhere with her and not eat inside. What about strolling on the Boardwalk, can I take her there as long as I carry her? Thanks, Kim

Since I am not getting any responses, does anyone know who I can call to get an answer to my questions? I doubt reservations would have a clue.

I don't believe animals beyond service animals are allowed anywhere on Disney property. I found this:

Pets are not permitted within the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Resorts except Service Animals. Kennel Services are available to Guests wishing to board their pets during their visit. Day and overnight boarding are available.


For Guests camping at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, pets are allowed within the designated Pet Loops, based on availibility. Guests must inquire about availability and restrictions when making campsite reservations. Please check the "Procedures and Policies" link on the left for additional information and requirements for Fort Wilderness. There is a fee per day charged for pets to stay at the site. Check the Ft. Wilderness Pet Sites Service for pricing details.

Only service dogs are allowed at DTD. That being said, I see people bringing little dogs. I think it is very unfair to the dogs. There are so many people and the dogs look very nervous.

Only one time a year are dogs allowed at DTD. They usually have a special weekend where you can bring your pet to get a picture with Santa at DTD.
