I bought a very small pool for my yellow lab. a few weeks ago when it was so darn hot. He thinks of it as a giant water bowl and has been terrified to get his paws wet in it. And God forbid if a leave falls into it because he barks as if someone is trying to break into the house .
Any way, every day we fill this tiny pool with water with the hopes he may go in, but at least he won't knock it over like he does to the actual water bowl.
Well, today is hot and humid. I filled the pool and a few minutes later he was in it.Not only were all 4 paws in the water, but he was spalshing and playing. At one point he had his face under water :p
I just thought he was so darn funny. I hope this isn't too boring, but it is still cracking me up :p

My sassy girl loves the water too. Sounds like your friend really hd a good time in the water today :teeth:

What a wonderful sight to see. I love seeing dogs playing. A simple pleasure.

I'm glad you were able to get her in today. Hopefully now she won't be scared anymore.

My golden has had a kiddie pool ever since she was a puppy. She loves water so she always gets excited when we fill it up. She's always trying to drink the water from the hose, and is always splashing around in the pool.

My labbie won't go in the pool, he is afraid of WATER! He did go in with all four paws up in the Catskills when were are on a 5 mile very hot hike. At one point he slipped where he couldn't stand and went in by a waterfall. Three of us had to jump in with our shoes and clothes on to save him! He had such a look of sheer panic on his face!

I am hoping this little pool will be a distraction from digging holes to China!

When I took him swimming for the first time in the harbor he got swimmers ear....Oh Brother

I used to have one for my golden. He would actually fall asleep in it.

We have a mutt who's part black Lab. He used to have a pool and loved it. I just never got around to buying one this summer.

At first, he was terrified of it. So DH brought it into the living room (dry), piled all the dog's toys in it, and climbed in and called the dog. :D We finally got the dog to get in, but I always had to sit on a patio chair in the pool with him.

His favorite thing to do was to try to get the fish painted on the pool off. Of course, he never did, but he did make me think he was going to drown several times.

We have a 4 month old Golden, I can't keep him out of the pool, he loves it. He likes to just go in and sit on the second step, it's really cute.

When I did daycare, my lab watched me fill the pool up for the first time one summer. He wouldn't get in it until one of the kids threw one of his toys into it, of course he had go in to retrieve it because fetch is his favorite game, from then on, he was in the pool almost constantly so we had to get another pool for the kids!

What a great idea! I never thought of doing that, but I know my Buster would probably LOVE it!

Our five month old beardie has decided that it is cute to put all four feet into the big water bowl and clean his feet once a day. This messes up the water for the other dogs and makes a mess.
