My poor old springer....I am thinking I need to get her some doggie diapers. She has always had a problem with dribbling, but as long as we kept her on her meds she was fine. Now that she has gotten very old, even the meds are not doing the trick. I think I need to get her some doggie diapers. Can you recommend anything? I saw some at PetSmart, but I'm not sure which ones would be the best. TIA

We have a 3 y/o that likes to lift his leg and mark his territory. He is fixed but he still likes to leave his mark....so he wears a doggie diaper. We have a bunch of them that we bought online. The last website we used was www.pawstoadmire.com. Loved these! Our guy isn't bothered by them at all.

To save $$, I bought the cloth diaper with velcro that the dog stores sell, but then used ladies' sanitary napkins (overnights with wings, if that's not TMI) instead of the more costly pet inserts.

Remember to keep the hair trimmed away from that area and use a wet wipe occasionally so she doesn't get irritated there.

What we do for our pets:)!

I understand completely - our German Shepherd is about 12 years old and has serious spinal degeneration. His incontinence has gotten so bad we've had to put him outside and it is just killing me. We had him on Proin, which worked for a while, then the leaking started again. On top of that, he started having seizures and the Proin was suspected as the cause so no more meds. I thought about the doggie diapers but they would have to be absorbent enough to contain the Mississippi river, if you know what I mean. I would love to find an answer for this problem.:sad2:

Sorry to hear about your dog. It is so sad when they get old. I'm glad you are taling care of her so well.

With my geriatric Jack Russell I had some leakproof panties and washable inserts made by a doggy crafter. That person is no longer in business, but there are many small businesses out there if you search the internet. You do need to be careful on the sizing, but I think most people will be happy to work with you. I've always had good luck with internet doggy product providers. You can obviously make your own diapers and washable inserts if you are at all handy, but I'm not!

You can also try regular baby diapers -- cloth or disposables --as a cheaper option to doggie products if they fit (you do have to cut a hole for the tail;))

Finally, Drs Foster and Smith have some girl dog "bloomers" that were highly recommended to me, but I can't vouch for them myself. Most people using them seemed to just use toweling cut to size, folded and stitched for the inserts, no need to buy the expensive linen ones.

Good luck.
