Dog-sitting

He's cute, but we're not "dog people". We're watching our Son & DDIL's Pomeranian overnight. They went to a wedding and they thought they were taking him along and leaving him at her Dad's. Nope. So, our cats are confined to their room because they don't like other animals. Thank heavens, he's a good dog.

They'll be looking at kennels for their summer vacation. And I don't mind going to their house every other day to check on their cat.

ETA: I wish I were with our other DS & DDIL - they're at Disneyland!

You need me to pop in for a visit. I speak "dog"...especially "small dog". Does the little dog like to be held and cuddled or is it more the type to want you to get in the floor and play with him? I'd be very willing to do either.

We will be babysitting a pomeranian for a neighbor in August. He's a great dog and a lot smaller than our cocker. Of course, I'd like to go with the neighbors to WDW instead but wasn't invited.

I'm just not sure how he'll be tonight. We brought the "baby gate" here, so we could gate him into our large bathroom, or I can sleep in the guest room with him. He's not much of a snuggler, and he barks at everything outside.

Well, this is what I do to earn money
I dog sit out of my house, I have 3 dogs of my own, and a foster dog, plus we have doggie customers coming and going. It is everyday life around here
I certainily understand that some people are dog people and some are not.

I have a dog of my own and I watch dogs (only small breed) in my home. Most of them are long term (6 weeks) while arriving families look for a home of their own. The dogs run freely around the house and in the yard. Nobody is caged. You would be amazed at how quickly a dog can learn boundaries. Yes, I do have an indoor cat. We somehow manage to make it work.

Barking is normal for little dogs. I just get their attention and tell them "no" and make a shhhhhh sound. Within a week they are trained to stop when I tell them.

I love to pet sit...cats or dogs.
