So just to clarify, you think any person who brings a dog to a hotel at an amusement park is selfish? Even if the hotel has a successful and well-run pet policy, and the family acts responsibly? Yes, yes, I know, not every family will, but I am asking about the
responsible families. Even they are selfish?
I am not disagreeing with you, Disney needs to work out the kinks in their current policy. And as it stands right now, I am not thrilled with it as a dog owner. I'd like to know that certain rooms are designated dog guest rooms. If I chose not bring my dog on vacation, I do not wish to be in a dog room. I can't even start though on the people that are fretting over the dog poo on the sidewalk... Have you never been pooped on by a Disney wild bird (trust me, way worse!)? However, I do respect a family's concern about staying in a room that previously had a dog in it. I would never want a child to go into an allergic shock because I brought my dog with me.
However, it is possible for a family to be responsible with their dog at a well-run, pet-friendly hotel at an amusement park. Not all families will leave their dogs behind for hours on end or will let them run all over the hotel room. Additionally, there are ways a hotel can ensure dogs will be separated from the rest of the guest population. To say that EVERYONE is selfish .period. seems a little extreme and does not give the responsible dog owners their due credit... Not every situation is the same! Disney has enacted this policy to work around families that need to bring their pet in order to enjoy a family vacation. Just like Disney has made many other policies to ensure other types of families can enjoy themselves.
I HATE a lot of policies that Disney has, but it is created to help other people, so I accept it and move on. I love certain hotels too, and if Disney enacted a policy that effected my family, trust me, I would be bummed. But guess what? I'd choose a different option! As much as the hotel may be my "home," it is not actually my home! No one is making you stay at a specific hotel! There are dozens of wonderful options Disney has created for all of us, and a majority do not involve this dog policy. The world unfortunately does not revolve around one person.
So with that being said, if the policy is discontinued tomorrow then oh well. If it remains then yippee I have another option available to me, if I choose to utilize it or not. However, if I choose to take my dog some day it will be because I am being selfish, it will be because I love my pet and it is the BEST FOR MY FAMILY AND DOGGY. If it is not the best option for your family, then by all means, do not utilize the policy.
ALSO I VOTE NO CAT DISCRIMINATION! LET LUCIFER STAY AT DISNEY TOO IF HE WANTS TO!
