Thank goodness and thank you for all the pixie dust and prayers!
I drove down to where my sister lives yesterday and we distributed flyers, she had talked with several people while walking the area and she got a few reports of a dog like "Snickers" being seen. Finally last night a man called and said he knew a dog fitting that description (a neighbor had told him about it) had been picked up by animal control late yesterday afternoon. Of course this was about 9pm so we couldn't contact animal control until this morning. She had talked with animal control yesterday but at that time they didn't have him. So this morning we called and they said yes a male shar pei had been picked up so we went over and it was him! They said he didn't actually arrive to the pound until the evening. He had some light cuts on his face and his collar and tags were gone. Wish he could tell us what happened. DSis is keeping him inside now, has been put in contact with a dog sitter that is willing to come by and let him have a break outside during the day. We talked to the vet at animal control and he said they do scan dogs for a chip when they come in so guess what Snickers is going to get soon?
We are so relieved and happy. From the reports we got he stayed within a mile of her house but was on the other side of a main road when they picked him up. Thank goodness he wasn't hit by a car either.
It's a happy day! Thanks again!
