Looking into our next (gasp!) non-WDW vacation. We like to road trip. Bringing our 2 dogs and 3 kids. Last year we went to Topsail Island, NC and had a blast just relaxing and letting all 4 and 2-leggeds run on the beach. Anyone have any other ideas for another destination where we all could go that's dog friendly? We usually rent a house, just looking for the right destination where we can let the dogs have as good of a time as all of us. We aren't looking into action packed activities...more of just a laid-back vacation where we all can relax and enjoy each other's company. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Universal Studios. ;)

All of the on site resorts welcome dogs and are within walking distance to the parks.

Cape San Blas in Florida. Lots of pet-friendly rentals and numerous dining establishments that allow them in outside dining area. Beaches are also dog friendly, except in State Park. At some they have to be on-leash but others allow off-leash. :thumbsup2

Oh, and I just remembered that we saw a lot of dogs when we went to Old Orchard Beach in Maine!

There's a fenced-in dog park right by the center of town, and leashed dogs are allowed on the beach in the evening and early morning. It seemed like a very dog-friendly place.
