Dog friendly resorts

Those that have traveled with your dog I have some questions.
Is there a breed restriction?
is there a behavior assessment?
What resort did you stay at with your dog?
did strangers come up and try and pet?

I am planning on bringing my boxer to art of animation little mermaid room. He is potty trained and crate trained. He is a big scaredy cat. He’s scared of other dogs and not a big fan of strangers. He doesn’t do good boarding so that’s why he will be with us.
We are traveling to the beach with him and doing a 3 day stop at Disney. My husband will stay back in the room most of the time. As long as he can go pee and poop in peace I think he will be fine.

We’ve stayed in the cabins at Fort Wilderness with our dogs. Would definitely recommend. I once had a dog that didn’t like strangers and my first concern someplace like AoA would be running into people going to and from the room. At the cabins this was not an issue at all. You have a private deck for lounging and plenty of room around the cabin for exercise or potty breaks. We didn’t see our cabin neighbors the entire time we were there.

1. Don't believe so
2. No, but if guests complain to the front desk about the noise, you'll be asked to board your pet at the Pet Resort or similar
4. MAY I?! I love making new fur friends, but I understand some dogs don't want to meet new humans or the owners would rather they don't, so I just watch from a distance and wish I could pet them.

Don't forget to bring vaccination records for your dog in case it's asked for! (and if you have to board it at Best Friends Pet Resort, they require it)
I believe you also have to notify the resort so they can put you in the proper pet-approved area of the resort, as well as provide the pet welcome kit upon arrival.

plus at Fort Wilderness will have more dogs around, not close unless at dog park if that is open, which usually means less people wanting to meet your dog

An option if you want to prevent people from approaching you and asking to pet you dog may be to buy him a service dog style vest to wear when you are walking him at the resort. Hopefully most people will see him as a working dog and not approach you to pet him.
